Emulators all the way, I have been wasting all of what would be my modelling time at uni (which isn\'t much as usualy it is drinking time) on a snes emulator.
Computer games are very much a case of \'rose tinted specs\' for me. The reminiscing about Chucky Egg, Manic Miner and Galaxians is great, but play them now and they\'re interesting for all of five minutes.
Most 8 bit games were shite, and the ones that weren\'t don\'t stand the test of time I\'m afraid. Give me the new Perfect Dark and Res Evil 4 any day of the week!
I should clarify a bit...There are plenty of modern day games that have raised the bar to unbelievable heights. I don\'t want to go back to the good old days. Half-life 2 was a hoot.
There are also so many games that LOOK GREAT but are just one trick ponies. After playing them for a bit you \'get\' it, and want to move on.
Maybe its because there are SO many games now-a-days, but it seems for every 1 great game, there are 10 mediocre to poor games.
