I honestly think peeps here now would rarther knock a point off for it being wonky that give a one for trying it.:D
Yep, you\'re probably right, but the only way to improve is practice, post and get feedback, and these kinds of comments are exactly what I\'m looking for, besides, it\'s meant to be squint, honest guv :D
Start the \"bone\" colour from a darker shade as you cant really highlight further.
A final highlight on the blues is needed.Probably a selective edging highlight.
As I said above, I\'m wary of taking the highlights too far, the blue was originally lighter, but I darkened it with a glaze, possibly a bit too much though. You\'re right about the yellow too, I should\'ve started with a deeper colour.
Use weapons to get an extra colour on the mini.Maybe some chrome?
I think the \"spikes\" on the back are screaming out to be a different colour but I dont know what.
I thought about using more colours, but decided against it, it\'s too easy to cross the line into gaudy. I like simple colour schemes, 2 or 3 colours at most but that\'s just a personal preference. Although looking back, I could\'ve blended the spiky things from blue at the base up to a green at the tips, something to think about anyway.

As mentioned the banner doesnt work.
As it is I think it is scored really well at 7.8.
Its getting to be a lot to do with whats in fashion really.Ive been putting chrome on stuff recently and now I think people are sick of seeing that?I might start refining my sky earth metalics?
I\'m over the moon at the score to be honest, I\'d expected something in the high 6\'s. As for NMM, SENMM etc whilst I appreciate the skill involved and the time and practice necessary to achive good results, I\'m just not a fan of the look, regardless of the fashionability of the techniques. Oh dear, I hope I haven\'t re-ignited the metallics versus NMM debate again. BTW I love the gems on your miniatures, especially the one on Lugh the Long Arm.

Thanks for taking the time to give feedback, it\'s gratefully received.

Cheers - Rab.

You are right that its a fine line when colour schemes are involved.I too dont like minis much that have too much going on,but sometimes like on the titan I think that its ok.My comments look a bit brutal reading back but its all honest help.As long as we remember not to get upset at scores on minis that we post that have been \"practiced\" on.That was aimed at myself really.:D

Absolutely, no offense taken, I didn\'t think your comments were brutal at all, constructive criticism (and yours was constructive) is always welcome.

Thanks again to all who helped, may your brushes never splay and your paints never dry out. :D

I really like it, but it\'s quite an old mini isn\'t it? Maybe something newer like Mr Finn has suggested (kinda) - something fresh to grab people\'s imagination.

You can obviously do great freehand, so I totally hate you now \'cos I can\'t do it to save my life :(
Cheers Tooshy, to be honest, I\'ve got piles of old, badly painted, miniatures and it\'s probably better to practice on them before ruining a new and expensive miniature :D

Sorry about the freehand thing, I won\'t do it again, I promise, please don\'t get the mole grips out, I\'ll be good. :p

Cheers - Rab

Hey Rab..it\'s ok, you are under no threat from the molegrips! I\'m just envious of anyone who can do freehand :]

And as for the old model comment - I didn\'t mean that I didn\'t like it - I do like it and I have plenty of old figures myself!

Some models are old classics and they will still score high if painted well, but most of the time people want fresh, new, exciting stuff. Only one of the models I\'ve posted is new and it happens to be the highest score - maybe that\'s \'cos she\'s a current figure or it just happens to be the one people like or the best work I have done so far. Who knows! But I don\'t come here for the scores, like you I want help, advice etc and to improve my skills which will ultimately lead to an improvement in my score :D
