And here it is. CMON History in the making.
The Challenger: reverend - A long time poster on the forums, with an extensive length of \'down time\' involving no painting but a great deal of posting on the forums. His recent return to painting has sparked a great deal of commentary from his peers, and some claim that he hasn\'t lost his edge, at all.
The Challengee: crazyboyae1 - He\'s a youngster, and has a similarly small gallery currently on display on CMON. The relative unknown was challenged, and accepted in the spirit of friendly competition and the chance to make CMON history as one of \'the first\'.
THE RULES (reposted from the other thread)
1: Both participants in the challenge shall paint the same miniature (determined by myself, the referee), without modifications beyond necessary filing and filling in of gaps.
2: Miniature bases shall consist solely of the plastic base that the model is sold with, modified by flocking materials only.
3: Both participants shall have the same amount of time to complete the painting of their miniature (due to participants having actual lives, this amount of time shall be one full lunar month --28 days-- from the official start of the challenge).
4: No WIP photos shall be displayed anywhere until the final close of The Challenge.
5: Photos shall be emailed to myself, the referee, and shall be posted on the account of \'PaintoffChallengeRef\', which will post only Challenge minis for the purposes of these contests. It shall officially be an account belonging to CMON (collectively), as far as standings go, and I will access it only for the postings of these miniatures, and the announcements of other future Paint-Off Challenges, should any arise.
6: Noone save the referee shall know which mini belongs to which artist prior to the completion of The Challenge. This shall be when both minis reach 50 votes.

(Bear in mind that I, the referee, know very little -- almost nothing -- about GW products. If this randomly selected miniature is not easily available to either participant, please let me know)
Official Painting Start Date: October 15.
Pictures must be emailed to the referee by no later than November 28 at 11:59 pm, Eastern Time.
Choose your champion! Cheer them on, or jeer them down, but please, no sabotage, and no throwing anything heavier than 5 pounds at the referee.
I will send PM\'s to both participants, to ensure that they get the information and know where this thread is.
