Added to the records.
For my own challenge with E.y, I\'m painting so far above my head that my nose has been bleeding all morning.
Seriously... this contest thing has me painting way way WAY better than normal.
Even if I don\'t win, I\'ve got a new standard to try and beat with myself.
In a short while, I\'ll be starting to work on the freehand efforts, which will, as I said to E.y last night (via PMs), will either make everyone point and go \'Wow!\' or make everyone point at me and laugh...
If I wasn\'t going to try to do freehand, I\'d be done today.

Glad to hear it Springbok, I\'m almost ready to prime.My table is a mess of card, rod, tube, plastic and metal items. Really glad I took you up as this has given me a reason to start, and complete, an idea I\'ve had for a while. The only problem I\'ve got is the other 3 competitions I\'m working on at the same time.

7 days remain in my time against E.y.
I\'m nearly done.
And I\'ve become horrified about messing up, afraid to put the brush to the mini.
I need encouragement.

Barstool, I always get the same problem. What I tend to do as a remedy is take a long hard look at the model and note down on a piece of paper what im happy with, and what i\'m not. After about 15 minutes, go outside so you get a good break from the lighting conditions you paint in (about 1 hour), then go back and look at your model, and then the piece of paper... see if you think of the same things you like.
It will prompt general ideas, and make you feel good about yourself if you come back and are still loving the miniature. If you return and find faults... bonus, it just means you get time to correct them
As for myself & GreenOne, we are doing a Space Marine in Space Wolf colours.
I\'m really excited about this, as it gives me a chance to do some effects i\'ve been after trying for a long time

Good advice Skraal, always a good idea to take a step back from your model every now and then.
Im glad to hear that the model is going so well, not wanting to mess up a really nice piece always seems to be a much nicer problem than not being able to get it up to standerd in the first place

AHGSDILGQWH!! The GW website won\'t accept my online voucher! I suppose I\'ll try again, but it\'ll be a bit before I have it. Mourner if you have it I suppose you can start painting. As long as we both do it in a month I guess it doesn\'t really matter when that month is. Though I\'m trying my hardest to get it.

Time should be fine. Just tweaking the pilots hands to take the controls and working on the geometry of the legs before I commit to fixing the angles - don\'t want it to look as if it will go arse over tit first step
