This thread is here for those playing (or interested in following/joining) The Order of the Five Guys Running Around Killing Everything DaemonBlade adventure we started @ HerseyCon.

We play on Sundays, 12 noon EST (or thereabouts). The current scenario is that they are assaulting a Gnoll lair, in search of the magical weapon known as the DaemonBlade, which the Gnolls stole from the local monks.

Our cast of Guys (who often run around killing things):

DR: Dwarf rogue
Sith: Elf ranger
Itchy: Dwarf monk
Halfman Halfamazing: Elf Fighter
Mosch: Human Cleric

we are using a program called OpenRPG, which can be found at www.openrpg.com. I\'ve had a few requests from others who would like to join in on the fun, and I\'d like to ncourage participation.

However, reality creeps in and I must admit that even I have a difficult timekeeping track of more than 8 PCs. Plus the time taken to enter in the characters means that at this time, it\'s 5 guys, and as I get the chance to add folks I will, likely in the order in which I got their requests.

All that aside, anyone can watch (lurk) in on a game. Once you have the program, keep an eye out here for the server names/times/rooms/etc and join that room. Just let me know who you are and from cmon when you come in.

It occurs to me that folks might want to know about the campaign\'s characters. I had thought of doing this myself, but then thought that you should introduce yourselves....<hint>;)

i\'m Itchy, the noble Monk Dwarf from The North. Born to dwarves, but raised by humans i\'ve trained with the monks and now continue my training solo with The Order Of TFGRAKE. The goals of my adventuring are to 1) build up enough personal experience to return to \"my people\" ready to be inducted as a ShadowDancer and 2) raise enough money to mine out the destoryed catacombs under my master monk\'s monastary to recover the lost holy artifacts that lie there.

Honor, Commitment, Loyalty.:)

I\'m interested, but...

...I need to check with Grumb first. He might also want to play. I\'ll talk to him about it and get back to you now that we\'re back in town.

So... are we converting our characters into Forgotten Realms characters? Starting over with new FR characters? Sticking with what we\'ve got and staying away from the FR? If you write a quick tutorial on changing the characters in OpenRPG i\'ll go through and change my character info for tomorrow\'s game. And i was wondering if it\'s ok to start earlier?

Allow me to introduce myself.
Well actually that\'s the first problem right here: I have no name. This is none of this \"mysterious stranger\" - stuff, my father just couldn\'t think of a name. Most people call me Mosch now though.
I am what will generally be called a cleric. That statement seems to provoke the question about my deity. While I respect the clerical body and the religious zeal some people exhibit, I do feel partial towards any god. I dedicate my life to people, not gods.
If we open our eyes, we will all see the suffering around us. People are sick and wounded, both physically and mentally, they are without guidance or moral. I can not accept that. As long as I can think, I vowed to end suffering and ease the pain of those around me. For years I have been wandering around the world, doing my duty and practicing my craft where needed. I never asked for anything in return and I most likely never will.
I see you eye my attire and equipment. why the weapons and armor if I want to ease the suffering of the unfortunate, you ask?
Suffering can take many forms. I want to be able to end them all. Foul monsters and demons threaten the wellbeing of every living creature. This I cannot stand neither. Though I feel more at home with mending wounds than inflicting them, I will never hesitate to step between the helpless victim and the attacker. In slaying the mindless, bloodthirsty beasts that roam the world we mend the gravest wound of all.

By the way, sorry about last sunday, it was this emergency operation on my stomach that really f*d up my plans.... I suppose we will play tomorrow and the group still needs clanky man? ;)

Excellent background, Mosch! (You too, Itchy...)
As far as the Forgotten Realms go, it\'s an option. As I said in a different thread, I can drop the current adventure/group into FR.
That being said, I\'d rather not. If everyone wanted to go FR, I\'d probably want to start everyone w/ new characters (@ 3rd lvl). The characters you have now (while perfectly legal and viable for long term use) were designed for a one-shot adventure @ the con (in a free-form, self-made campaign world).

@Sith: Insofar as the current camaping world is concerned (for background purposes), I\'m making it up as I go. Feel free to make up your own locations, past friends/enemies, etc. I\'ve always been a DM of the mind that the overall story of the campaign should be a shared creative experience between DM and Players. For example, I am delighted to see that Itchy gave his goals, these give me someting to work with when designing future adventures/the campaing world.

@Mosch: Glad to hear that you are OK.

@Everyone involved: Game tomorrow! (14 Aug 05).
Server: GRAKE
Room: DeamonBlade

@Everyone interested in getting involved: I\'ll make characters as time is available to me to do so. The \"waiting list\" as now goes something like this...
LeopardPixie (w/ a 1/2 Elf Druid Pyromaniac)
Grumb (I\'m assuming you want a Dwarf of some sort...)
RedDawn(not quite sure what you want)

If you want in, drop a post here with the kind of character you\'d like, and I\'ll add you to the list.:D
