good news and bad news..
The good news is that you get another week to figure out the puzzle.
You can probably guess the bad news...
This week\'s not looking too good for me.
A) Due to technical difficulties, all my maps were dropped off-line and need to be re-hosted before we can play, and
B) The usual game time (11 AM EST) seems like it may be a good time to list auctions for Works of Heart. All of that info is on the same computer as the one I use for our games. Sorry, but I feel that it takes precedence over the game.
We\'ll cross our fingers and hope for mayhem next week, eh?

Well, right now my comp is more open than an open heart surgery. Put a new motherboard in and Win XP crashed under it... couldn\'t repair the partition, so i\'m currently reformating it.
*sigh*
Well, loosing EVERYTHING on my comp really sucks, but i\'ll be darned if it\'ll keep me from playing this weekend. i\'ll let you all know when and if i get it back up.
PS. i\'m on my parents\' comp right now... it makes me sad

Well, if all goes well, I\'m good to go for Sunday. I\'m sorry to hear about your comp issues Itchy, I\'ve been there myself (week before HerseyCon, actually) and I don\'t envy your position. I hope you can get it sorted out in time for the game. (We miss you)

Big long dive
Well... here\'s the story as posted on another forum i visit;
So i got a new moatherboard for my computer... put it in, and went to boot it up. Waaaa waaaaa waaaaaaaaaaammmm... Windows XP Home Edition bombs under the new hardware. My computer didn\'t come with a Windows boot disk so... i tried my Pops\' Dell boot disk, but that\'s a piece of cr*p. So i called Microsoft, told them my nine hour story, gave them my Windows product key THEN had the guy tell me i have to contact HP for help. Called HP, got some foriegn dude with a thick accent (don\'t hate foreign dudes, but when i\'ve got a 3 day old headache, 900 dollar paper weight and can\'t hear what he\'s saying because he\'s talking too loud for my phone... i get peeved) and went through the story again with him. So now i just bought all the driver disks and a boot disk for $24.57... should be here next wednesday. Oh, and while he ordered it for me i got to listen to four smooth jazz songs... again playing way too loud.
Yup... not any fun. Not gunna be able to play this weekend. Seriously hope i get the comp back up next wednesday. And on top of it all... i woke up with a completely glogged nose, blew it and blood started running everywhere. i\'ve been assured it\'s not an aneurysm. Firgures... i\'m not that luckylol
Just goes to show... don\'t try to switch out hardware under the XP OS. Older versions used to be able to take it... is M$ downgrading it\'s software?

That\'d be zero. He\'s an engineer and fits the stereotype. He wont let anybody download anything to his computer. It really sucks, because he likes my sister more than me and yesterday she downloaded a virus, (that he still hasn\'t found) skipped town and he doesn\'t care. He wants me to fix it... just what i wanna do, fight another computer

Huh? ??? Use up my time? Nonsense. (and no, it has nothing to do with finding perverse pleasure in watching you guys squirm...:innocent: )
Plus, you guys are soooo close to the solution.
The plan is to get the game going at or around 11 AM EST. If I\'m up early enough, I\'ll launch the server early so\'s ya\'ll can talk. Same server/room names as always.

Well...they got it. It took em a while cost them a few HP and one PC, but they got it. For details, see the \"Take home test\" thread.
Hi All! Just wanted to let you know that we won\'t be \"there\" this coming Sunday morning. Every year a kids-with-cancer-support group, CURE, throws a big bash at Six Flags with free entry to the park, food, etc. so we\'re going to go to that.
AND, (yay!) Scott gets to go with us! He was supposed to go to India, but that trip got postponed until the beginning of next year. (He might go to Berlin, but it will be the week after next.)
So ya\'ll have fun stormin\' the castle while we have fun stormin\' the bumper cars!

We have 3 out of 8 as not able to make this week. If you are in for this week, let me know here. I\'m a thinking that as you are close to the end, strength in numbers may be a good idea. (Unless you wanna join a certain priest :~( )

1) My comp looks like this
ok, sooooo... the hard drive got wiped, i knew that. Didn\'t know my hard drive\'s drivers got wiped. So i need to steal my sister\'s 3-1/2\" floppy drive to format and make a driver disk, then wipe the hard drive AGAIN, then go through the recovery discs and pray that works. Wont get the floppy drive untill saturday, but if i do get it going the frist thing i\'ll load is my anti-viruse, then OpenRPG. i\'ve i\'m up and running you\'ll hear from my saturday night. Can only hope

Nice of them to tell me that the recovery disks wont work with the new motherboard AFTER they sold them to me and had them not work.
OK, i\'ve been having some family & personal problems so i went over to a friend\'s house tonight to pick up an ugly old habbit, and just happened to get an old floppy drive off him. Rushed it home, plugged it in, got everything up and going and then had it not work. Called HP \"tech support\" (if you can call it that) and got the speal about how i need to buy Windows XP AGAIN:flame: Staples must love me. Hopefully i\'m up running, but at this point... i\'ve gotta doubt it.
(too bad Chrispy quit doing his comic... it\'s quiet the soap opera going on at my house... and i\'m the only one here!lol
