We start our tour with the road wheels.
The lower set is before I went to work on them with a #11 blade - the upper set is after. The beat up condition of the wheels is based on personal observation of armor and other tracked vehicles through the years - unless the road wheels have been replaced recently, they get beat to hell fairly quickly between supporting the weight of the vehicle and interacting with the tracks.
On to the turret -
Some simple mods here - I moved the spotlight to the top of the turret, and changed out the main gun and coax for other, more dakka weapons. The main gun its self is a kit bash using green stuff, the barrel from a 155 SP howitzer kit (which in turn got the barrel from the Bane Blade), the muzzle brake/short gun assembly from the Blade kit, and some plastic tube. The coax is scratch built using bits from the top of a can of power duster/compressed air. The combination of gun and turret is 25 cm/9 3/4 inches long.

Good so far mate. In fact the wheels are getting damaged because that outer ring is made of rubber in MBTs. I think for a more realistic look they should be painted charcoal to represent the rubbery look of the real ones.. so missing chunks of the rubber is adding to their looks.:good:

Ok, been busy the last couple of days with some sub assemblies -
Like, the Hull -
Going to use the dark red you see in the photos as the overall color - which means when the sand clears a bit, the hull gets repainted. Again.
I fared over the bow gun and bow turret locations - for the covers I used some figure bases from an older Tamiya model kit - waste not want not, which were filed on the edges to give them a rough look, and then the whole thing was hit with rough sand paper to change the surface texture a bit -
and finally - I started working on the tracks - they will be painted gunmetal grey, with a blue wash, followed by a black wash, and a burnt sienna wash to give them a bit of color -

Ok, so work has been done - entire hull with the exception of the sections of the sponsons that cover the tracks is red, with a dark blue wash, and kinda shiney due to semi gloss sealer. More paint to be applied, along with hard weathering. Pics to follow when I can be arsed to get the camera out.
