I was just happily working away filing down my new tunnel dweller which I received on monday and then it happened, I impaled myself on one of his sharp spikes ( there was even a warning in the box). Luckily the damage was not severe and I carried on regardless, it did however draw blood, but with my nerves of steel I kept myself from fainting.

I\'ve done that before. I was filing down a fig with a small shop file and when I poked myself with his sword I proceeded to file of my finger tip alittle. It didn\'t bleed, but the nerves were so sensitive I couldn\'t touch anything for several days.

As it is a limited edition, I could imagine a photograph of your scars serving as evidence of authenticity

i had a similar incident except with an xacto. i poked myself..well..its more like a stab since the bone stopped it from going all the way thru my finger...i still cant bend my finger like i used to. but since it was such a clean stabbing it healed up very nicely!

like provoke_me I\'ve also learned the hard way (more than once), that bone does a fair bit better job of stopping a slipping xacto blade than skin

While trimming flash off of something, I accidentally poked my finger with an X-acto knife and used the litttle bit of ensuing gore to stain the tablecloth on my Reaper Altar of Evil.:|~

I know to never cut towards myself, but I was shaving off part of a plastic mini when I lost control of the blade. The Xacto sliced through the plastic, and into the two fingers holding the piece. The result was very little paint but a lot of bleeding. Until it healed if I were to put the two fingers together they\'d form a line from the cut, with a notch in each nail that prevented the blade from sinking much deeper.

Another common mistake is not keeping track of files, and having them give me the equivalent of rough paper cuts.

It\'s a tough hobby, but the rewards are worth it

I know all about this. I can\'t seem to glue anything together without either sticking the mini to my hands, or sticking my fingers together.

Aha. This is also one of the reasons why I hate assembling. Converting is a little different, though: at least you know what you\'re bleeding for lol
But there\'s one thing I\'ve learned (and the good thing is, I learned fast!). Before you start to take any action involving a modelling knife, put plasters on your fingertips -- the ones with a fabric-like texture. Prevents the damage and doesn\'t interfere with assembling the mini.

As for the glue, you can easily take that off your fingers with nail polish remover.

Lollollol...I\'m hyper discord messy person, and gluing accidents are extremely normal for me, as well as dropping scalpels in my legs, cutting tips of fingers, poking myself in the eye with paintbrushes, falling off my chair...In Eavy Metal they used to say that if I didn\'t have 3 near-fatal accidents a day the world would end. I\'m a spaz.... how the hell I manage to make mini painting my job is beyond me lollollol

for all the potter fans out there....tonks is about as close as you get with me....maybe with an unhealthy dose of bridget jones thrown in....i\'m a disaster on legs.

I used to cut muself in my fingers everytime I assembled a new box of minis.
and while painting I usually drop the mini at least twice.... (on a good day)

Im not having a good week, why does everything seem to go wrong at once. I was at work and I had to use some superglue, I opened the bottle without looking ( boy am I skilled) and went to apply the glue to the piece I was holding in my hand, however the nozzle of the glue had become stuck in the lid so I proceeded to pore it all over my hand. What a fool I am.

at least you weren\'t stupid enough to spray superglue accelerator on it afterwards.....been there, done that, hothothotnastyouch. *It\'s a bird, it\'s a plain, it\'s TAMMY SUPERSPAZ!*

I did get superglue on a finished mini once and tryed washing it off with water (long time ago very young and foolish). I guess nothing could of saved it anyway.

I\'m with tammy, let me near a bottle of super glue and nothing is safe, I\'ve gotten a drop of glue on my knee then glued it to the bottom of the table, I glued my laptop shut once (that is on the painting table, which is dumb I know!), my favorite was when I had a drop of glue on my finger I didn\'t realize, and and an itch on my nose...which resulted in glueing half my nose shut. and I wasn\'t about to use chemicals to get that off! :|~

I don\'t want to brag, but some crazy bloke less than a mile from my house used his hobby knife to kill his parents. He in turn was stopped by two miniature lead projectiles from the local police. Died from sudden deceleration injury. Man am I glad they switched to pewter. Usually the worst with that is when your mug falls off the table and lands on your foot. BTW, with all the glue accidents, it is no wonder that one of the brand names here in the US is Crazy Glue. Still, no one has beat the American Pie 2 accident. At least not to tell of.
