You should ask Sturmhalo what the effect was when I told him! I think he pulled stomach muscles!

It was a real comedy of errors that afternoon. After gluing myself to a table and a glass I phoned my best friend to see if he could set me free (he has a set of keys in case the cats need feeding), but he was round his fiance\'s families, so they all got a luagh that afternoon as well. It took a long slow process to glide that scalpel between my arm and the table to get myself off it. If it wasn\'t a 4ft glass table I would have carried it to the bathroom to get the nail varnish remover (but being the 6 1/2st stick I am that wasnt an option!).

A few months after that i had to glue my arm for real when I tripped over a black cat in the dark and slid the same arm over a broken glass. I have some wonderful scars that are a couple of inches long where I glued my arm back together again - and I will tell you for nothing that it hurts like hell when the wounds are about a centimetre deep.

I thought that black cats were supposed to be lucky or is that unlucky I can never remember which.

My black cat is just very fat and has a habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time!!

She wasnt in my good books that night.

Are hospitals that bad or that full in England that you had to do it yourself?

No they aren\'t that bad, but it was midnight, it was a very bad bleed, it was too embarassing to call an ambulance and none of my friends were around. I tied a tourniquet around my arm and when the bleeding stopped I got the glass out and glued the wounds shut. Wound care DIY style

(BTW, I am a qualified nurse!)

I dont know if this is true but I heard superglue was first used in vietnam to quickly bound wounds, does anyone know if that is true?

Old wives tale mate, they found it had a good use there, but it was developed long before that (40\'s or 50\'s I think)

sorry man, that sounds pretty crazy! how in gods name did you manage that?!

Quite sure I mentioned that before.... well, I was glueing with a really strong glue I had found (the fumes alone were so strong that I closed my eyes in reflex and the lids actually stuck a little...) when I fumbled and dropped it onto the carpet. Of course I didn\'t bother to get up, got into the \"snake man\" pose with my head close to the ground where my superglue had fallen... along my leg down onto my foot. I grab the glue, I can\'t get up because my beard stuck to my leg.

Yes, that probably looked quite stupid from the outside (I paint directly in fron of my window to the street)....
