Thank you! Actually I did not want to imply in any way that I was upset about the whole thing. I\'m absolutely not! I did a paintjob that I really enjoyed doing, and it\'s really interesting to hear other peoples\' opinion! So that\'s not the thing.
It\'s just that this interesting experience gave start to a thought: are there any \'rules\' for the Perfect Miniature, or it\'s all very flexible and subjective :)

Today\'s the first I have looked at this thread and it addresses something I have noticed for a long time. There is very much a \"CMON look\" to what is given credit. The \"CMON look\" IS very good, but it get\'s a bit redundant. Smooth, smooth, smooth. Hard to do (I\'m not very good at it) and very beautful but also narrow.

I burnt out on trying to do the \'smooth thing\' and am now reverting to how I have painted for 25 years. A bit more agressive and \'painterly\'. On canvas I dont shy away from having the brush strokes show and try to use them to my advantage. I dont know how well that will translate to mini\'s but since I couldnt do the \'CMON look\', and it was uncomfortable to me I thought why not paint how I paint?

{edit} Love how you did your mini Margo. Glad you brought this subject up. I have often thought of it myself.
