It would seem to me, to have a level playing field for everybody would be to have only one neutral person move all the player’s units. Or are players rabid about anyone touching their wee lead darlings.

and for dice cheats, when I played the DM inspected all dice first, then the game rules were no touching of dice until all had a good look and the DM ok’ed it.

some of the funnies stories were having to roll for action in the town brothels .......ok, I played with a dirty minded bunch:twisted:

Only cheating in game\'s I\'ve experienced is in online gaming, Some may played counter strike.
But I\'ve seen a lot of cheaters on that, some could fire bullets through walls at me or just vanish as I fired at them.

One of our group back in school actually had some loaded dice but of course it was obvious they were and so we could tell which he was using. The same person used to lift his folder up to eye level and roll the dice on that and then quickly pick them back up before anyone could check. He tried his hand as a D&D DM. That went badly. A large spider dropped on my character\'s head (incidentally the character was wearing a helmet with a sharp spike on it-I even did a drawing of him with it). No matter what I tried I was told it wouldn\'t work, like prying the spider off with a knife or trying to remove the helmet. Only someone else hitting the spider would work. First blow, nothing, second, killed the spider and my character. It all descended into chaos after that. He was co-DMing with a new bloke to the RPG world. He never took part again.

Used to play D&D with a friend who\'d use a d6, and d10 instead of a d20. He would call 1-3 as 10\'s, and 4-6 as teens on the d6, and then whatever the d10 turned up. So a 4 on the d6 and an 8 on the d10 would be an 18.

Was pretty fun decimating his ork horde with my DE Wyches, though, even though he loved to \"bend\" rules, and exploit poorly-worded rules to his advantage.

He doesn\'t play with us anymore, which is just as good. Half the time his pain meds (disabled Desert Storm vet) would make him pass out during D&D, or it\'d give him bad gas.

I play D&D with friends I\'ve had for about 12 years, and we have a good party. I used to use my original dice from back in the day. The clear gem dice. And when my DM said he couldn\'t see what I rolled (cuz they clear!), I swapped \'em out in the interest of fairness. Guess I just never see the point of cheating at a game. Especially when there\'s no point.

I used to play a guy who used the old \"measure the forearm and use that as a way of guessing ranges\" trick. Of course his luck was so bad that his cannons and mortars usually misfired. I like to think of it as Karma.
The most i have cheated at a game is by giving this guy a completely min-maxxed army (he lost every game before that...either he had no tactical sense or was so unlucky). However he even lost with it. I hate cheaters and can\'t see what is the appeal.
Played a guy in a GT with 2 phoenix lords as his HQ, 3 wraith lords and not much else. At the end he was genuinely surprised when i gave him the lowest possible score for army selection.

When our game started up we had a dice roll cheater. He had all the tricks. Dice where the numbers weren\'t colored in, rolling somewhere no one could see the results, etc.

Surprisingly when he rolled for hit points every level he got the maximum amount.

Because of him the rule got created that all dice rolls had to be in the open and any potential criticals had to be confirmed by another player.

He left the game when one of the players had their character prevent him from doing what he wanted to do, regardless of the fact his character was specifically told not to do it. Elven bard couldn\'t break away from a grapple of a dwarf fighter/cleric. Go figger.

That was his last game. He literally just didn\'t come back.

The kind of sad thing is that he gathered up the group and started the game. I guess it stopped being fun for him when he couldn\'t do whatever he wanted to do in game.

We\'ve got a new cheater tho so things aren\'t completely boring. This one likes to forget how feats stack so he can roll lots of dice. Yes, rogues get some pretty awesome feats but when the rogue says he has a higher BAB than the fighter at the same level there\'s an issue.

So our GM generally reduces his stated damage by at least a third. This is one of those creepy guys who always plays a female, redheaded character. Every game. Ew.

I think those kind of guys are in every group. I bet the female character is a lesbian too. The usually were in the games I played.

To go along with your creepy player comment; I mentioned this before. I was playing G.U.R.P.S Swashbucklers back in the early 90s. I was playing a rakish character. The GM made me role-play the seduction which wasn’t bad. But then he and the group wanted me to go into detail of what I would do after I bedded the young lady. It felt really weird as I stumbled through what my character was doing. Especially after they started breathing heavy and staring at me with these odd looks on their faces. BTW; one of our party members was a woman in real life (and in the game) and she was doing it too. That was my first and last game of G.U.R.P.S Swashbucklers.

sorry Mike, I\'ve never played with an army, only D&D groups and we didn\'t mind touching of figures when the owner couldn\'t because of all the orange Cheetos powder or BBQ sauce on fingers lol
