I know this isn\'t miniatures, but seeing as we are all artists here, i figured id show you guys.

This is an illustration i did of a lion, colored with colored pencils. The backround is being painted a scarlet red (acrylics) I plan on drawing outlines of bears and tigers over the red with pastels.

The colored pencil will most likely be gone over with watercolor to \"smooth\" out some of the blends done with the pencils.

The bottom under the lion will say Lions, Tigers, Bears, Oh My!

The lion will be laying ontop of the word \"lions\" tell me what you think.

Please excuse the pictures, theyre taken with a cell phone.

great pose!!!
you had me goin\' for a sec...i thought we may have another rastaman here on cmon...the background needs yellow and green:D...
seriously though, this guy needs to have the mane darkened up a bit to bring the face and body out a bit more...aside from that, he looks like a real lion...

cheers

well as not much is near completion yet i cant really say too much other than, not bad so far

i agree with adding colour to the red to give it depth/life if/when you do it

as to smoothening blends...you should be able to do it with the pencil quite well in my opinion, however since you are mixing paint and pencil already, it might work out, although i wouldnt know, ive never mixed the two

Generally colored pencils(real ones, not wax like crayola!) mix with water color very well. Hoping to get some more work on it tomorrow, ill post then. Thanks guys
