The Speed of Karma ?

It\'s been a very strange couple of weeks for me. Lots of ups and downs, to say the least. But the kicker of it is, all of the downs have been followed almost immediately by something quite good happening, as well.

It may have been going on for longer, but it\'s been so prevalent, lately, that I couldn\'t help but take notice.

First, a couple of weeks ago, I met my new neighbours across the street. They\'d just taken possession of the house, and the movers had put all their stuff into the garage, because the floors weren\'t finished yet. So, I helped them take their beds inside so they\'d have something to sleep on. This came after a 10 hour day of gruelling labour in fairly crummy weather. That same night, I won just under $70 in the Pick 3 lottery.

The next day, I was doing a service call, repairing a broken bed, and the customer asked me to move a few heavy pieces about for her, and then was very embarrassed to not have any cash to give me for the extra work. Whether real or not is irrelevant, I think, as that evening, my ex gf came back to me, begging forgiveness for what she\'d done, and so far, it\'s still going well on a provisional basis.

The following morning, I found a wallet filled with more cash than I care to think about (why anyone carries that much is beyond me), and ID. I returned it to the owner, all contents intact, refused his offer of a \'reward\', because honestly, a reward for giving someone back something that belongs to them in the first place is kind of silly. But that\'s just me. Walking home from work, that evening, I ran into a friend I hadn\'t seen since grade school and had been thinking about for a few days, wondering what she\'d done with herself.

Yesterday, returning a rental truck, I ran into no end of trouble getting it back. First, the gas station\'s credit/debit system crashed while I was in the middle of pumping gas, and the pumps shut down. It took half an hour to get things cleared up so that I could go to a different gas station (I couldn\'t leave without paying for the gas, and all I had on me was a company credit card, which couldn\'t be put through for what I\'d already pumped). At the second gas station, the line-up was insane, and it took me another half hour to just get to a pump. By the time all was paid for, I was more than half an hour late for returning the truck, which, according to the contract, meant the company would have to pay for another day. When I told the story of the gas (and showed the receipts), they kindly waived the extra day charge. By this time, I had 20 minutes to make the trek home before company arrived... an unlikely thing.

So I went to the bus stop, missing 3 buses in rapid succession while waiting for the cross-walk light to change. Traffic was too heavy for me to even think of jay-walking. Looking up the street, though, I could see another a few blocks down. No worries. I get on, and the fare box was broken, so nobody was paying for the bus. Free ride home. The connecting bus at the station was right there (this never ever happens), and I got home in a mere 10 minutes over-all (prior to yesterday, I would have said this simply wasn\'t possible). Enough time for a very quick shower before my company arrived.

Is Karma always that fast?

It\'s a funny thing, this life! My ex made an offer out of the blue a couple of days ago to buy me out of our joint mortgage. At the time I was stressing about my financial situation. Marvellous!

I happen to be leave things happen for a reason, weather you call it Karma or just good luck why question it because as soon as you do something will always bite you in the ass..

Just go with it :)
