I\'m a bit of an optimist so likely I wouldn\'t be changing much as I\'m sure things would turn out OK...

If I knew for a fact with proof, then most of what I\'d be doing wouldn\'t be appropriate to discuss here and the rest would still be illegal. Call me what you like but I obey the law out of fear of repercussions not because I think it\'s right to do so.

I\'m gonna try to finish Golden Demon entries, and then if there\'s time I\'ll watch Shawn of the Dead to bone up on zombie-killing tactics with household items. It\'s a useful skill to have!

And if we wipe ourselves out with nuclear weapons, or diseases engineered or

Hey, thanks all! I didn\'t really mean to overtake the thread, my apologies to the OP.

The worse has hopefully passed, but more heavy thunderstorms are headed here.

They are forcing some folks to evacuate, but we are fine at my home and my work.

Still, amazing, exciting, and terrifying times.

Here is a pic of the \'railroad bridge\'. It collapsed, and about 10 minutes later, my folks saw it float by their house.

I work on the opposite side of the river, and about three blocks to the left of this picture...While almost all of our employees were evacuated, a few of us spent time shoring up the sand bags to the essential parts of the phone company.

Usually, that river is low enough that there is a sidewalk next to it below the flood wall. I think the normal stage is 12 feet, this is at about 24 or so.

Parts of the city are devastated, but all along this river, it is going to be worse for the folks downstream.

@ Supervike: Best of luck. I work for a bulk water operations company (i.e. they operate large dams) and i have seen the studies for when/if they fail. You guys way too much water and we have far too little.

The world is going to end on June 12th? Is that the American June 12th or Australian June 12th. I hope it is the American as i didn\'t realise it was the last day today and i have come to work. Half my day is over!

@supervike: Hope all is okay at your home? We have a lot of floods in our hometown. Cleaning up the mud is very disgusting...perhaps you get yourself a mask...I nearly ossessed: when I helped a friend who wasn\'t very lucky cause he\'s living near the river.
