I agree, urban rubble for those guys. They\'d be using the scorched earth policy anyway, they wouldn\'t like grass. 
Au contraire, any of them with a Slaanneshi bias would love Grass.

)James; You are more than welcome to them and I\'m glad to see you\'ve made a good start on the Horde. Like the others I\'d tend to go for an Urban rubble/gravel effect on the bases. Small crumbs of broken Cork & Sand could be glued on easily around figures feet, plus don\'t forget an easy way of doing smoother but still textured areas is to tear small pieces of Sand or Emery paper to glue on the base.

Oh and before you ask, the answer is no. I never have. The only perception altering substance I have ever indulged in is Alcohol.

Ive got a great video of him falling over drunk a few years back.

I vote for urban rubble too, Im doing all my dark angels in it.
And the forge world extra base kits also fit in nicely, Ive got all the space marine ones, and they do work nicely.
Mind, not a lot of metal figures will sit on them, its gotta be plastic ones, and you have to do a little carving/moving limbs to make them really fit.
But Ive taken to grinding old sprues up with a meat grinder to get larger bits, and you get this funny kind of shaving dust at the bottom, and Ive mixed that freely with sand for more effect, so two pots, one of big bits to be painted up as brick and steel etc, and sand/dust mix for general crap.

That\'s some pretty impressive work on the Scratches and damage, but to me I think that the separating areas on the whole of the figure do need a stronger Darklining.
I\'d suggest that the primary aim for the Darklining should be the ammo belt & pipes first off, and then see how that goes before deciding on the next areas.
