There are no Wolves on Fenris

Ok, so another blog started. Yes yes yes....I have several there are dorment and collecting dust, but there is a reason for that. These last months I have been stuck in a bit of a painting rut, and have not really painted anything..

So what to do to bring back the drive, to reinvigorate myself...The answer was easy, go back to the thing that has always interested, fascinated and captured me; Space marines and more acurately Space Wolves.:fingers-crossed:

Sooooo i have dug out a bag of semi assembled, semi painted miniatures that have been rattling around my boxes for ages. And surprisingly i had quite a stash of stuff lying around. I have spent the last few days reading the codex, formulating a plan, reading Imperial armor 11, drooling over the art and assembling minis.

The finished minis amounted to the following:

1 grey hunter squad
1 skyclaw squad
1 rhino
1 contemptor pattern dread
1 long fang pack, minus a single heavy weapon
several terminator equipped wolf guard.

I have ordered some stuff from FW and variuos bit sellers to fill out a few small holes in the above mentioned units; a las cannon, some terminator legs, 2 contemptor arms, some mk V marines and some magnets.

Further more a waylandgames order is in preorder containing the new and lovely Thunderwolves and fenrisian wolves. And a wolf pack box.

But enough typing, you all want to see pics, so here is a finished wolf guard terminator...minus the base though

The mini is painted to be from Bran Redmaws Great Company

The next 2 wolfguard are on the painting table.

And i have a bucket of other marine stuff prime, but i wont show you since the mass of light grey primer is kinda drepressing lol.

I really like the "style" of the mini on the right.
What is it? - Does it have a name or is it just part of the wolfguard?

Does the Blood Angels have similar figures?

These are terminator armored marines and all the variuos chapters have them. The one on the right is built with bits from the wolfguard terminator box while the guy on the ledr uses a torso and head from forgeworld.

Blood angels use the regular terminator boxes, of which there is 2: the regular terminators and the assault terminator box.

ForGeworld does some blood angel terminator shoulderpads that look bloody awesome.

Nicely done Mar! My only suggestion would be to bring up the highlights on the face for a little more pop but otherwise he's fantastic!

Thx Kat, normally i would agree with More Pop....buuuuuutttt....t this spacepuppy army is gonna be low key and anti pop...if that makes any sense.

I have a gift in the way via mail that is gonna be very Pop.....sooo watch this space. Well no this exactly...but one of the other spaces.

Woah, cool wolves! I love it that you're more using a real grey rather than a blueish grey.
But I can't get over the fact that you just had a Contemptor 'lying around' half forgotten, damn, such cool models. I'm going to get one myself fo' so'!

@Sagh, yep, the Forgeworld schoulder pads for the BA are wicked awesome. i got those for a termy squad that in the pipeline. (Damn, it's turning into a bloody long pipeline... gaaah! Curse you Contemptor! Curse you MK2 RHino's and Predators! Curse you boxes of half-painted mini's sticking my eyes out every time I pass them.)

I know the Pipeline feeling all too well. Mine goes around the workbench, out the frontdoor and around the block. I just keep getting Waauuuv by minis and other peeps projects these days. As soon as ME3 is played through i am gonna take a gaming April off to focus on painting stuff. Then Diablo 3 hits in may and then i am done for lol.

And yeah the contemptor was meant for a ravenwing army, but that never got flying so it has been reinstated and wolfed up abit.

And the preheresy rhinos and predators are also on my list.

And the winged huve tyrant model and tervigon/tyranofex has me salivating aswell.

And the entire Freebooters Fate collection....andandandand :-(

The sculpted and cast detail on the 2 faces in the forgeworld set are some of the best i have ever seen.
