Thinking of you dad

Hey Everyone

Some of you may remember i had a thread about my dad a while back. My dad passed away on sunday morning, surrounded by myself, his sister, my mum and his cousins. It was peaceful. I am upset but it was a long suffering illness. He was diagnosed with Familal prion disease. He is at rest now and is a relief for me as i only left his side a few times since tuesday.

last week was the 1 year mark of my dad passing away, and the hardest part is not having said goodbye...
it's even harder than not being able to share the news of all the success of the last year...
no matter how many goals i achieve, no matter how bad i wish i could tell him about them, it's not having been there at the end that really bums me out...

i hope he knew you loved and appreciated him before he passed...
that's something you can always be content with...

Condolences my friend. I was unlucky enough to miss the passing of my grandad by two days. Planning to go up and see him for the last time but he died before i could get there which is beyond frustrating. Your father was surrounded by family which I am sure comforted him greatly.

Thanks everyone.

Its such a strange time. im 25 and NO family have passed away till now. Im upset but so busy sorting things out. He was a great guy, 57 is just no age nowadays.

My deepest condolences. My good lady's dad passed away just two weeks ago, very suddenly, so I've got a good idea of what you're going through at the moment. He was young too, just 60 years old.

Course he had to be a smart arse, and have a heart attack in Newark airport of all places (we're in Glasgow), so it's nice to know his somewhat skewed sense of humour remained intact right till the very end!

As is 25 too young to lose a parent.
