The hair is actually a base of dark orange, with dark red shading and a hot orange/yellow highlight. Unfornunately my photo skills are not improving as fast as my painting skills.
As far as the axes go it is something I\'ve been experimenting with. Started with a white primer, Then mixed Bright Silver metallic with just a little light blue as a base coat. Then I used a night blue wash over the Axe and then rehighlighted just the edges with the bright silver. I trimmed the runes with bright gold.
I am beginning to mix colors with most of my metallics to keep them from being dull and boring. Red and blue seem to give the best effect.
As far as cranking out tabletop miniatures, I am cranking out 10-20 per week and selling them on ebay for $10+ a pop. It takes me about 2 hours per miniature but hey I buy them from auctions at about $1-$1.50 each unpainted or needing striping. I just post the best on CMON for the last 4 weeks.
Actually I already have 3-4 regular buyers. Not trying to get rich, just feeding the beast while I have the summer off. It so far has paid for a nice set of 5 W&N Series 7 brushes.
