I had an idea to do the \"Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes\" like the poster Insignium Astartes, or like the one in the Rogue Trader Compendium.
I have the material for the Display, but what I don\'t have are enough cookie cutter posed marines.
Does anyone have, or know where to get, the ones from like 2nd or 3rd edition?
The ones that are all the same pose and the guns go in front?

I\'ll pay shipping, but the more the better!

Any help appreciated!

you could buy them up until recently in my lgs. the had a few boxes left as they weren\'t popular. maybe try that?

I did try that.
I tried finding them on ebay too.
I don\'t even care if they\'re new, or painted. I just need like however many there are, what 300 or so chapters?lol

If I remember correctly there are 1000 chapters, at least in the Roge Trader era fluff, no clue if that got revised with later editions.

I knew the 20 original plus all these but where would I find all the others? I\'m just talking fluff and quasi-officials chapters, of course, you knew that or you would have said millions.
So where do I find more than those?

nah i dunno about rt fluff but all i have ever heard of were 20 founding chapters. and i\'ve been in the hobby since the early 90\'s.

The fluff says there are about 1000 or so chapters but most have been left blank for people and GW to add more.

I don\'t know if the list you posted is the complete one of official chapters so I\'ll post links to other lists so you can cross refence them.

thanks. I will go through and reference them when I get closer to starting.
I am trying to round up as many of the Carbon Copy Figs at the moment.
But I think it was more like 10s of thousands back in RT. They implied that there was no way to get an accurate count as the recurring foundings and successors etc.
I was looking just for the specifically named ones. The ones that GW named and provided color schemes and some fluff for.
The main 20(18) and their named or suspected successors.
I\'m not looking to try and catalogue every chapter ever created by gamers and all.
Just the ones that have some inclusion in the GW universe. References in Codexes, or Black Library pubs. I don\'t think there are more than 200.
I will need to go through and get an exactish coun t when I get closer to doing the display for them, as I\'ll need to know how many shelves and how to divide them evenly per shelf.

The links on the site you gave and the 2nd one I gave mention where they can be found. Some have only been in an issue of WD mentioned once or something, although that 2nd list I linked to has a lot of the shoulder pads with the iconography and the colour schemes.

Now, as I took a long break from the hobby, I\'m not sure which models you\'re taling about although I have a few from sometime a few years ago. Can you post a pic of the ones you mean, please?

Aye, I have 4 of those plus the one with a missile launcher. They came with the paint set. They\'re all primed black (a couple also have a thin very dark green layer as well), and unfortunately they have mold lines. If you want them , they\'re yours.

If you haven\'t got it sorted by the New Year I would think I can get hold of pretty much as many of these attrocities as you could need from folks I used to work with. There were tons of them put asside for use at events in speed painting comps and stuff like that at GW head office. I\'m sure nobody will miss a few, even a few hundred!

I haven\'t even begun building the display past some sketches, and I have a big commission in February/March, and a possible gigantic one before that, so I wouldn\'t be close to painting them up until close to summertime.
