Thought I\'d finally say a real hello.

Hi.
I\'m a long-time lurker, short time named user. I\'ve been painting, badly, for about three years, on and off, and have been reading the articles and forums here to try to improve my skills.

I don\'t have a camera, so at this time, I am not able to show my work to get any advice or criticism on it, but I hope for this to change in the near future (tax time approaches).

A little about me:
I took my handle from a canadian rock group called The Barstool Prophets. I liked their guitar sound and their lyrics, which are peppered with literary references that seem to indicate that at least one member of the band is very smart (or their songwriter is).

I\'m also rather fond of planting myself on a barstool, lingering over a single drink for several hours, and watching people.

I write short stories and submit them for publication, so far without success, though I have gotten some actual personal notes from editors that were encouraging.

I am a gamer, both of RPG\'s and tabletop wargames.

And that\'s probably more than any of you really want to know about the new(ish) guy.
