Thoughts on Rankings

I decided to look up where I was in the rankings the other day.Mainly because mine has been dropping rapidly lately,something I hoped to change.
Anyway, theres a great deal of very talented painters/artists around the 300 rank with very little difference in the average scores.
Well done everyone.
I say this because I was trying to push too hard to get better and higher ranked but you know what,
after looking at whats around my ranking it makes me bloody proud to be there.

IT\'s not bad enough that we\'ve got cadboy\'s announcement and sniffled\' wedding plans. Then we get the whole Tooshy/Avicenna deal.
But those werent\' abd enough! No!

Now we ahve to get Klute starting a thread to NOT complain about the ranking system. :wow: What is this place coming to ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

What\'s going to happen next? Finn announce he\'s found religion and will purchase nothing but GW products from now on ??? Jeeeeessssssh!

yeah klute you\'re right!

there are 411 artists with 8+ mean in ranking and many other below them have a 8+ mini in their gallery, so according to the voting guide (8 is a great job) it seems there is a lot of talented painters here, i\'d say the top painters in the world!

My ranking was slowing going down and down and then overnight it shot up over 100 places, I thought that there had to be something wrong but it was because one of my minis got a good score ( I was pleasantly surprised). It just goes to show you how close it is. I am honoured to be where I am but I dont think its worth worrying about it to much just try your best and see what happens. Maybe we should all put one of are very first minis up that would be good to see.

I agree........I recently jumped 60 places, to 312 but drop everyday and tomorrow I expect to drop a little more. As Louis said there are loads of artists with an 8+ average now, and as people improve and submit better figures, they move up....

The conclusion I came to was I simply need to paint more! Practice makes perfect (so they say). And if I don\'t submit minis, everyone else will continue climb.

Nice to know everyones paying attention to all the tutorials and advice!

Wow, reading the first part of your post I thought you were going to tell us something we did not know about Klute and Dragonsreach! lol

Even in the 1000+ area I\'m more familiar with, there is good competition and it\'s a tough job deserving your ranking.

I have to agree with Klute here and take my hat off to you all!

I\'ve just had a jump of about 120 places due to the last couple of pics i put up, so I am as pleased as punch right now! But I know it will slip a couple of places every day, so i had best keep painting!
