I read a book called Romance of the Three Kingdoms a while ago which is based on a period of Chinese history around 100-200 AD, I have also immersed myself in various computer games on the subject and have taken a rather deep interest in it. What I really want to know is if anyone knows of any minatures based on this period surely there has to be a minature of the mighty Guan Yu god of war or Zhuge Liang the sleeping dragon, does anyone know what im talking about.

Not that I know of. I\'ve been thinking of making some of them myself but haven\'t gotten around to it yet. As to figures from the same period, you\'d probably have to go for figures from the Han period instead. Or just look at the other periods which figures have clothing styles that fit the period. Note, not all computer games use historically correct clothing.

I have had a look at the various books out there and the one that seems the best is in 4 volumes by Moss Roberts, I think he was the one who translated the abbridged editon which I read and he also uses the more modern name system which I am use to and I dont want to make it anymore confusing as there are alot of characters to remember.

I think I have the abridged Moss Roberts version too. Every time I read it I see General Cao Cao as Cocoa.

I\'ve never seen any minis for this period, but there are some lovely statues of Guan Yu available in Asian import stores. I\'m drooling after a big brass one. He can sit on top of my entertainment center next to the Monkey King my fiancee gave me for Christmas last year.

They\'re not historically accurate, but I\'ve been enjoying some \"wuxia\" novels by Jin Yong. He\'s as popular in Asia as Tolkien is in the West.

I purchased an unbridged version this week by moss roberts (2000+ pages) it was so confusing to bye there are so many editions. Its gonna be a long read.

Hope you didn\'t pay an arm and a leg for it like the copy I saw. That\'s why I bought the abridged version.

The copy I got was\'nt to much, I think it was about £20, there were some editons that did seem expensive though, hopefully the copy I got will be be good i\'ll have to wait and see. I really want to read more about Ma chaos battles against cao cao, Ma chao was\'nt in the abridged edition very much and i\'m sure he gave cao cao a run for his money (except he was betrayed by his own officers, damn that Han Sui). Anyway looking forward to it.
