Three of my CCV Entries.

I tried to do something new to me or something that I was out of practice on in each of my eight CCV entries. The other four I\'ll post after I get better pictures of them, especially since I altered the base on one since the contest pics were taken. Eight will not be posted because it was stripped three times before the contest and I\'m not fully happy with the last minute rush paintjob I did.

On the Darksword chick I tried my first gold NMM, my second attempt at silverish NMM (The first I stripped because it was aweful.) and my first large freehand background. The envelope has freehand on the front and back which I didn\'t get good shots of. I was trying to get this miniature to look as close to the Elmore painting as possible.

On the Darksword Barbarian I tried my first flowing waterbase with Woodland scenics stuff after sculpting the base.

The CCV Biker Chick was the first modern miniature I\'ve painted in years. I tried to do a denim effect (which looks better in hand than it does to the camera) and graffiti.

I really like all 3 of these, although I have to say my favorite is the mail girl. Great work on the 2d background and the idea is well done and creates a fun scene with personality as well. Great work!

Your Gold nmm is a little flat, however it\'s an exellent first shot at it, another mini or two and I\'m sure you\'ll have it pefected.

Thanks for the comments. The 2d background was actually more fun and less of a pain to do than I thought it was going to be.

I was afraid to try the gold NMM since browns and yellows seem to be my bane for doing much of anything with. It was a good learning experiance though and I was able to make a list of things I need to do to try to improve that on the next one. :)

Wonderful...

...you must\'ve been busy!! Love the mail girl,that\'s such a naughty idea and the mailbox and letter look pukka! The background also is a nice touch, adding as it does to the contemporary feel, thanks for the giggles, this whole piece is great lol The water base is well sculpted, the positioning of the actual figures base is well located. And the biker chick rocks, love the graf and the writing on her jacket! Thanks for sharing, look forward to seeing your entries next year! ;)
