Update!
The ork in progress is still and ork in progress. Meaning little on that front, though there has been some so I guess I will get photo up soon of said progress.
EDIT: Photo:
New project (because finishing one would be wrong - Holla if ya hear me!)
OSL. I figured since the Inquisitorial Dread I am working on is going to be covered in OSL, I should get some practice. I picked up this Reaper Nightstalker Assassin because I like the robes and the dagger, and thought it would be a good OSL exercise.
I blocked in my colors (if you read the Wyrd forums you know I am in my blue phase), and a little roughing in of the gold NMM hem. I knew the highlighting of the hem would change once I started with the lighting. Being a 2D painter of some degree of talent, I figured this would be a snap. Sometimes I can be a real windowlicker....
Feed me some feedback here, Seymore. I used autolevel for the old photoshopping, and the yellows didnt come out very well, but the image itself is representative of what feedback I am looking for regarding the OSL itself and the blending.
Problem areas for me at this time: The skin of the arm. I think its a little distracting being a warm color, but I don\'t think a cool would work - HELP!
Since its an integrated base, I was going to make a sculpey base, press the model into it, remove said model then bake it to create a more scenic base and give the OSL a chance to shine (ba-dum-bum). Any ideas on a better way to acheive a scenic base for this guy?
I know the NMM at the hem looks like butt. Its just roughed in ATM.
And I know an assassin wouldn\'t use a glowing blade but thats not the point of this exercise is it?
Your feedback and criticisms are, as always, welcome and encouraged.
