Wolf Update

Wolf update!
picture.php

All I have left is ears, claws on the remaining paws and belly ( maybe give it a gender).
I've got myself some plasiccard for armor. I have never used it so it could be a disaster. but only time will tell.

I had to cut of the other head on the wolf because it was to big in compare to my wolf lord thunderwolf.
now it finally looks like a wolf (of some sort).

oh, the marine next to wolfy here is my wolf priest.
I tried to make it look like the on in the codex as much as possible except for the head, I didn't have a head with a respirator (and cool hair).

I press the greenstuff with a sculpting knife into a "zigzag" triangle pattern and then use a needle to shape the fur.
more or less like the pic below but i don't cut out triangles in greenstuff.
but I've done it in supersculpey

Wow man, very nice. As a fellow Son of Russ, I'd be pretty interested in that if you ever get off a successful sculpt. It looks great. Reminds me of the Fenris Wolf (Hammer of Thor heroclix figure) that everyone seems to be using as their thunderwolf du jour.

Could we get a few different angles on it?

Thanks for more details mate. Nice sculpting as I already said. :good: His left front leg is a bit hard to read for me ... but it's probably just a photo.
Anyway - I thought I should ask about that different clay for saddle visible now (SS). Yesterday I have been thinking about to test what happen with GS in oven on .. lets say 130°, to be able combine it with super sculpey or so. Any experiences with that mate ? Or it's not possible to do it ?

Thanks.
P.

I have heard that GS becomes soft and melt... like plastic, but I have only tested with gw plastic and the details and edges soften...
but test it on a piece of some what detailed greenstuff (If you don't have details, you can't see the change) befoer you do anything

Thanks for sharing the way you sculp the fur. I'm a beginner with green stuff and want to model a wolf pelt (remodel and get rid of the current one I've done, but which doesn't really look like fur) for my conversation of lysander, which should become logan grimnar (I don't like the current sculp except his head ;-)).

I really like the wolf, but it seems to be big compared to the normal space marine? ;-)

greetings,
Johannes

Given that all of GW's ridable wolves are too small, I'd rather have big than small. Plus, look at Canis' mount. That thing is a behemoth.

well my wolf is a tad bigger than the canis model, especially "fatter" but I think that Fangir is too thin.
