well the little ones up with a stomach upset and now\'s he\'s back to sleep I\'m as awake as can be so thought I\'d put a quick question up...
Yes I know there are a million threads on peoples favourite bushes but a lot of the same answers....
I\'m currently using windsor and newton series 7 and 7 miniature but my favoured weapon of choice is Vallejo brushes.. I\'m guessing it has a lot to do with technique but the vallejo ones generally perform better...
I am looking to try a few different brands and was wondering if there are any that anyone can particularly shout about...

I\'m looking for something that can hold a decent amount of paint and can kep a very very fine point...mainly for some freehand work but also to just expand my arsenal a bit....

any suggestionparticularly with a bit of a review possibly would be massively appreciated...
cheers

Vallejo Kolinsky Sable are good too.

Ther was one CMONer who like Davinci. I think they were called Davinci.

If it\'s possible that what you like about the Vallejo brushes vs. the W&N is the longer, thinner silhouette, then I do recommend you try a Da Vinci Maestro brush. Trying the size 1 would be my recommendation, it\'s a nice general size brush. For detail work I still tend to lean on my W&N 00, but the tip on the Maestro is fine enough I could do more with it than I do if I was more patient.

W & N do a slightly less expensive Water Coour Brush with an Ergonomic shape to the handle.
I picked up a couple along with Matty1001 when we met in Newcastle back in June.
I\'ve used mine and think that they are a good brush for Basic work and main highlighting, but not quite as fine as the Series 7 for fine detail or freehand.

Not tried any others brushes as I\'m a bit old fashioned about buying brushes online. I prefer to do an \"in shop\" test & inspection. There is (or was) a very good Artists Shop in Manchester town centre, not far from Picadilly Gardens. Looks like I might have to have a wander to see if it\'s still there.;)

There\'s a thread linked on from this one too that I\'d recommend a quick peek at.
