TIME TO VOTE - Wereshark WYRD Painting Contest

Well, I just ordered the mini. :D This will be the first time I enter any painting contest and I suck at painting, I think I\'ll be a little irreverant with my conversion. Hope you don\'t mind, FF, if it\'s kinda tongue-in-cheek. :)

Figure what the heck...I\'m not going to really be in any position to win because of lack of painting skill and I think weresharks are...well...a little goofy anyway. :flip:

Well, good news is my LGS has one on order and hopefully will have it in store in a couple of weeks. Might be cutting it a bit fine to meet the deadline, if I know Minifigs and their usual delays in delivery, but if it does come in within the next two weeks I should be able to get something done in time. I do have a nice idea for this one too. I expect others will have had the same one, but we\'ll see. :D

@ kitty - Doncha love it when you think \"wow...that\'s a fun idea! that\'s great!\", but then realize that since it is such a fun idea someone else will probably do something similiar? I have that sinking feeling right now too. Heh.

@ marineboy - Ya know, with poetry like that, you\'ll be in the front running for the Random Schmuck (tm) prize! :D

@Nathan : Is there a limit to the size of the base and eventually to the number of additional minis in case of a diorama?

I don\'t see a reason to limit it, but I can tell that\'s one of those loaded questions that you just don\'t KNOW what someone else has on mind (laughing).

Have at it, as long as it features the Wereshark I don\'t see a problem in it.

You know though, I just had an idea that I had to laugh out loud about ... I picture a dock somewhere down on Florida, the smell of salt and fish heavy in the air with the hint of stale beer and a wiff of pot smoke on the air and there, milled about on the pier are a group of people nudging in to get a look at the three guys standing with their poles and wide proud looks on their faces, one of them with a beer in hand, and strung up beside them is the Wereshark that they caught fishing while out on a charter boat that day with rolled up eyes and a few gaff hook wounds in it where they hauled it up onto the boat.

(rolling ... for you that fish I\'m sure you know what I\'m talking about).

I think I might have a short story to write up now ... (wiping tears from eyes).

@ kitty - I know what you mean. We\'ll see how many of them sharkies use the same idea that I have. :)

@ FF - Ya know, we\'ve caught sharks before while doing shore fishing. I think I would NEED the beer if I pulled up a wereshark.

I have a great concept, but since it takes me at least six months to finish a piece I\'m not gonna bother. For anyone looking for a good \"fisherman\" idea-

Just picked up mine at the shop this afternoon. Only one they had. Now I have to go find one for RedDawn. She has come with a killer idea for this and it irks me that I didn\'t think of it first.

Was just looking at the mini after taking it out of the blister and see what you guys mean about the mold lines. Some of these are going to be a bear toremove without damaginf the details... I was also hoping that both arms were detached. I wanted to do something with him, but looking at how that one arm is molded into the body, it is way beyond my abilities to cut off anf resculpt. Have to rethink my plans a little now. :(

Anyhow, thanks to FF for running this shindig, looks like this could be a fun one!! :flip: :bounce:

Odered mine yesterday from Tracy, with a little luck it\'ll be here in a week or so. The lgs promised to have one also within a week but their \"week\" can be vary outragiously in length.

That\'s bad news about the mold lines, though. And the arm, Grumb. I was going to move them, too, maybe my idea won\'t work. What to do, what to do? ???

My guess is that it\'s an octopus he\'s keeping as his faithful sidekick and throws in a couple of jokes like \"You can have the arms - me, I don\'t want any... already got eight of \'em\" when it comes to ripping apart unwary fishermen. :p
