Damn you painting Muse, why must you only strike at night!

So ive not got much painting done over the last few weeks and im struggling with my motivation again. I decided to see if I could jump start it by woring on the Shaggoth

still pretty early WIP at the moment and a bit of an expereiment in sketching. Just blocking in colour at light at the moment without to much attention to blends. It's actually quite a nice way of painting, fast to (for me anyway)

Sorry, dude, you've reached a level of ability where you aren't allowed to hide your talent for long stretches like that!
The Shaggoth, whatever that is, looks awesome. I really like the purplish brown hide, rather than a more orange-y color.

Thanks Saint. Your right the orangy red was to light. I much prefer this colour now. He seems far more menacing

@Diggs but why can't the muse book an appointment and return at a more reasonable time? It's got to the point where, as I'm closing down for the night and turning off the lights I have to physically stop myself from glancing at the table just in case!

quick update. I finally got around to getting a black light touch today so I can finally seem the effect on Weapon of mass distruction. Very happy with the result

the he effect is still a little rough on the Shaggoth so needs lots more refinement

Thanks for for the nice comments guys I completely forgot I'd done the same thing with War & Ruin as well, it's a slightly rougher effect as its still WIP but it should be easier to control now I can actually see it!

Lovely painting mate, I especially like shaggoth :good:
The blacklight effect is very effective but I would use the effect sparingly as the gimmick could overpower your quality painting.
