I just wrote up an article detailing my approach to painting eyes. It describes how I paint the eyes for a larger figure like a bust or 90mm. But, I use a slimmed down version of the same approach for smaller figures (like 54mm and 28mm ones). So there are some tips in there for those as well. My only critique is that you didn't cover "eye placement",.. such as the fact that unless your character is specifically looking down, that the top 25% (approx.)of the iris will be covered by the upper lid,.. and that there will usually be a "strip of white" between the bottom of the iris and the lower lid. (You might notice this if you take a moment to look through all the pictures, as it's something that you've naturally done). This can change however, as monster eyes or anime eyes (for example) may take up different amounts of space.
