We try to make the miniature models look real and they make the real stuff look like mini models. Fantastic!

That's a nice pic. I while back we had a guy on the news who was taking these type of pics from a helicopter. The pics he took of London were really cool as they looked like really intricate scale models of the real thing.. but they were the real thing.
Such a cool effect.

You know, I didn't think of this when I first shared the link, but I wonder if you can reverse the process with a picture of actual miniature terrain to make it more realistic. Probably have to crop out any unfocused parts, then tilt-shift in the opposite direction or something. The colour settings would be easiest to reverse. Hrm.

Well since there are allegations of miniatures having been worked like that I'd consider that it was entirely possible.
