Tools! Must have tools!!

Hamilton Bell Co Inc makes medical type things such as scalpels (sharper than an exacto knife) and all sorts of hooks, needles, and whatnot that could be useful in sculpting. I discovered this place when I inherited one of their Vari Case instrument cases from an aunt who used to be a nurse. Inside it was a scalpel, slides, straight needle, scissors, forceps, and droppers. Everything inside was useful in working with minis except the slides. You can still purchase these (I think hers was bought around the 50\'s or 60\'s most likely) and I will vouch that these cases are hardy, space efficient, and will hold a variety of tools. My Vari Case holds:

1 scalpel
1 hobby knife
1 pin vise w/container of small bits
1 small pair needlenose pliers
1 dental pick
1 tool with one end sharp with curved tip the other end straight
1 metal cuticle and nail cleaner
2 straight needles
6 needle files
3 tiny needle files in container
2 containers extra blades for hobby knife

What\'s more... I could probably fit a few more things in.

For the hobbyist on the go, this is a great container for the sharp bits that might tear up things like clothes and fingers.

... Just recently, I had a mental battle with myself. I was working with greenstuff and couldn\'t stop thinking about my manicure kit. Luckily, common sense won and I didn\'t ruin it :)

Do you mean these cases?
http://www.hamiltonbell.com/instrumentcases.htm

Looks quite fine. I\'m actually using a pouch I made for my sculpting tools: http://shorterlink.com/?T6RZ7O It has an inner liner made of jeans fabric which protects it from my tools cutting it up.

And Margo, have you seen the figures by Cdukino? She used a manicure tool (the one to push the edges of a nail) for her first sculpts. Works quite well though she now has a set of professional tools.

If anybody here is looking for sculpting tools, here are some addresses:
