Tooshy needs your help/advice/input please

Hi there all you CMON\'ers. Myself and 3 friends are setting up our own model club, but we can\'t agree on a name. We\'ve spent the last two meets coming up with silly suggestions and are getting nowhere fast.

This is your mission....should you choose to accept it: we need suggestions for a club name and maybe a logo .

To help you think of something suitable, here\'s some background info re us and what we like.

1. The members are me, Brad & 2 Daves
2. All 4 of us like different things: fantasy, flats, historical stuff like WWII, tanks etc, garage kits and terrain.
3. We don\'t want a name that is too war-like ie nothing with destruction, terrorists etc in the title, but we also don\'t want a name that is too arty or pretentious.

A couple of our own silly suggestions are:

\"4 Sprue Dorks in Plastic\"
\"Voodoo Warriors\"

Now you can see what we are up against! Not great ideas huh... :rolleyes:

I\'m expecting great things here...... show me what you are made of and get your brains in gear!! :D

Do four guys who hang out together need an official name?

Perhaps the Devon Scale Modeling Society? Sounds nice and official. A circular logo with DSMS under a picture of a recognizable local landmark in silohette would probably look good as well.

What\'s wrong with Voodoo Warriors? If I made a club, I\'d force everyone to accept that name because I\'m a Mid Nor player..

How about something in Latin? That would make it nice and offical, like \"Liberte, Elgalate, Mini\".. or \"Semper Paint\".. Always..... Paint.. :p

This would be a bit pretentious IMHO... For a 40 people association, that would be more suitable...

Sounds like a very small association of anglers who like a very specific branch of taxidermy.....

I kinda like that \"Tooshy and the 8 Balls \" but that\'s a better name for a band with Toshy singing . .

Simpsons reference - Shotgun Painters Club.. After Homer\'s make-up applicator. Obviously your paintng is better than that but it\'s the irony . . the irony . . .

Actually, this is the UK - the ancestral home of pomposity and pretention. I think the Devon Scale Modeling Society isn\'t pretentious enough for a group of four people!

The Ancient and Historic Society for the Preservation and Advancement of Miniature Scale Modeling of Devon

or simply the AHSPAMSMD for short:idea:

Finally, if you have a group of people who paint, stay up late, and probably consume some alcohol, you could probably get by with something like : Beers and Brushes.

\'Devon Mini-Guild\' (miniatures guild or miniature guild?)
\'International Association of the Evil Geniuses for a Better Tomorrow\' (no relevance at all, but I like it)
\'4 of Us and only 3 Brushes\' (sounds official, does it not?)
\'The Nicer, Gentler Painting Group\' (not destructive, but maybe pretentious)
\'Grown Ups with Strange Toys\' (that might be misinterpreted)

BTW TooShy, I did not see you change your avatar to a nice hunk... We\'re still waiting and we hope it won\'t be as long as for the famous elephant...
