...anybody been watching it?

I don\'t pop in there as much as I should so I don\'t know if this is common but there were some real funny scoring patterns on a few member\'s entries :mad:

On the upside, one of \'em got taken down a peg or two though and the submitter packed up all his toys and went home lol

You mean BRAN? I was wondering why his stuff was rating about 2.0 above where I thought it should, and he had several times as many votes as is regular per the amount of views he was getting :p Some if it wasn\'t bad, but I\'m glad I\'m not the only one who thought it was 7\'s and not 9\'s!

Yep, suspicious much?!

You\'re right - 7s or low 8s seemed about right for most of his stuff (a couple of the older submissions looked like natural scores, 8.3 and the like).

He\'s gone off to cry to his mates about how unfair CMON is now more than likely, which is pretty blood funny considering!

No, no! That ^^ one and a few greens were what really struck me as odd in the number of views and score department.

Ah ok. Perhaps it has been him that has been hitting mine, thinking we have done it to him. Also he just won the Anima tactics comp, do you think he vote rigged?

you know it\'s funny.. I was just tryng to explain the registered vs unregistered thing to a fried the other night .. I flicked onto the top last 7 and had all the examples I needed.


I don\'t know what\'s sadder the fact that they even bother or the fact that they think people actually take any stock in it.....


probably one of the worst weeks I\'ve seen for it though......... it\'s a shame because it just meas that a few pieces that are just outside the top don\'t get the focus they deserve thanks to a few arseholes that have nothing more important to do in their life than inflate their scores...even more of a shame that some of those responsible are in the top 50 list off the back of these shenanigans.

oh well..bless \'em

Some on the moderator team have been paying attention to the voting patterns as well.

If they see some serious discrepancies, such as \'shill\' voters from the same IP, they are calling the user on it.

It\'s pretty freaking ridiculous how some people feel they have to cheat. Bunch of bastards they are.

Random tangentially related thought: I just went and scoped the new Discworld greens that\'re in the top last 7 days, and I think one of the commenters really doesn\'t get Discworld!

Agree on this last one. I still think there should be a limit of one posting per mini with an exception of units, where you would allow the unit shot and individual shots.

I\'ve noticed an increase in \"odd\" voting over the last 6 months or so, not just in the Top lists. When i\'ve had the time to sit through and vote, the majority of stuff is about right but I have noticed an increase in the number of ratings that are either too low or more often too high. It does irritate me greatly when I see (IMHO) figures rating over 8 with crappy paint jobs and little highlighting/blending; especially when some of my figures are voted really low, the most recent being 6.6. That with smooth blending and a custom base. Now i\'m not saying that it should be up much above 8 ... but still.

I still post as I have calmed down about the scores and view CMoN more as a vast library of mini images which I am glad to add to. But every now and then I still have a little rant to myself:flame:

I for one have given up, on getting ticked off about the voting system. the forum is fun to look at and talk to people on it and enjoy a good time with friends. i still post my minis but i love hearing the comments and critiques from others about my minis on my wip. i think it took a while for me to realize this, but yeah votes arent much anyway.... i quote dragonforge....

Actually, I won the AT comp, and I didn\'t do anything strange.

I think as the recession deepens your seeing people who are desperate for income do desperate things including shill voting on CMON to try and earn a better price for their item. its one observation I have seen.

reason for edit..because I was dumb :p

I stopped voting on minis a while ago. Although if I like a mini I will leave a public comment with the score I would have given the mini.
