I cannot speak for anyone else, but the child soldiers aspect of the Lulus hits a bit too close to reality for me. Maybe I'm being a little oversensitive, considering I'm a father now, and I'm projecting my son on to what is largely just a game. It makes me uncomfortable to see children drafted out for battle - I mean, I've seen the images of the Somali child soldiers, but it's never really hit home for me till only recently. I reckon when my son gets around to paintball age, I'm probably going have a few issues.
I'll admit, I'm also not really enthralled with the stance Raging Heroes has taken in responding to some of the Kickstarter comments - there was one early on in the Kickstarter, where they essentially responded with what I interpreted to be overwhelming arrogance, that really damaged my perception of them. I'll be the first to confess that that really is my interpretation, and that it was my failing in not realizing that they were French, and therefore, English probably wasn't their first language and not a strong point.
Funny thing is, if you ask me just exactly what the comment was and what set me off, I couldn't really tell you now.
Anyway, I was already contemplating throwing my pledge away in favour of Cthulhu Wars, so this was really just the last straw for me. I've found their handling of the Kickstarter very poor in terms of communication, lack of positive updates, freebies that simply do not interest me, and with the daily unlocks, a mentality of "oh, shit, don't think people are buying into this quickly enough" that really soured the Kickstarter for me.
I'm a forgive-and-forget kind of guy, though, so when they roll out their next planned Kickstarter for Dark Elves, I'm quite happy to give them a second chance and see if their performance improves.
