So, now that I am free to choose my mini again, I hit a dilemma. I really like the horse so far, but I'm not decided on a color scheme. So I was going to work on some of my malifaux crew. But they're not prepped, and I don't have their colors picked yet either. So I looked at what I had sitting around primed, and it dawned on me:

Perfect. Anyone who knew me from Forza knew about my predeliction for catgirls.
Sooo....Kisa and Scratch it is. Now if only I could scare up the funds for that new Kisa Relic Knight *drool*

So I was at my LGS picking up some white primer, and I damn near fainted when I saw this sitting on the bottom shelf with the GW Fantasy stuff:

Yes, I bought it LOL. Still in the plastic wrap.

Dang! Lucky dog! Was it a bargain or did they want an arm and a leg for it? Don't need prices, just a high or low thing. lol!

Nice find! I've got a metal Wolfen around here somewhere. Don't know what it was called but it's the one that has one foot propped up on the half moon shaped blade of halberd type thing.

I wish I was lucky like that. My LGS has some finds occasionally, but you pay for them. Why would Rackham discontinue such beautiful minis? Surely painters drove their sales, more than players.

At least you have an LGS....:(:(:(
There used to be a GW store at Opry Mills which is about an hour or so away, but I think it went bye bye quite a while back.

We had a GW hobby center, but it died when GW decided to slay the Southeastern division. Of course, it wasn't long after that event, that GW based its US HQ in Memphis. Brilliant. Our NC shop closed but GA had 3 in one city, IIRC, at the time.

Enough thread-jacking, I'm not cassar afterall. The skin tones on that girly look great, good start Trystan. I look forward to seeing where she goes.

Great start so far! I tell ya though, I'm staying away from those magnets... I'll feel even worse if anymore limbs come flying off and you have to do more repair work LOL!!!!

I got ideas flying around for your tomb kings model... can't wait to get painting on it this weekend!

Just a side note - I'm not sure I want to enter anymore of the CMON painting contests. Apparently there are some people who will do anything to make sure they win, and I don't appreciate getting my minis sniped down to inflate someone else's ego.

Cool Diorama. Scores are funny things, I see some stuff and think "that gets that high a score????" and other where I think "really that's all people think it's worth???". Can be a bit crazy, I don't take it too seriously, only way to I guess! Any way I love your cat woman, very nice skin tones and blues, should be ace.

Thanks Marbo.

Yeah, I try not to get too worked up. As long as I like it, that's all I care about in the end.

As for Kisa, I've gone back over the blues and painted it back. My original shading idea didn't work, and by painting it black, it's made the hair and tail really jump out. The only problem now is that if I want to keep it black, I have to shade black. Ugh.

I've spent most of the day prepping all the minis I had sitting around in pieces. It was quite a chore. There were 26 minis, from terrot tots to wolfen, that needed filing and gluing. Now they're all ready for primer, and I have a heightened appreciation for how many cool figs I have waiting for paint. Better get back to Kisa!
