Well Elly came by this weekend and we got some Sedition Wars (and Zombicide) in, and as a result I took a detour today to get some more Strain done. I tweaked the bases some too.

The quasi isn't done, but man the more Strain I paint the more I appreciate the sculpts. Someone took some time on these guys.

As for the Hellbrute - not to worry. I haven't lost interest or anything. I'll be revisiting him later.

I just looked at that last pic again, and noticed your awesome work with all those little eyes down on the left.

Sorry the pics are a bit blurry - if I hold the mini close under the painting light, the camera washes out and you get that blue/white overexposure you see in some of the pics. This is closer to true color. The left leg is pretty much done, and I've started in on the right leg and arm.

More skin. It's not as bothersome as I thought, since I took Elly's advice and worked on it a section at a time.

Looking great Tryst. What really caught my eye was the highlighting on the shoulder plate. Having painted many a Space Marine, I have always had a problem with how the spherical shoulder armour is highlighted. For me, that last shot really nails it. Thanks

I'd second that. I struggle a bit with the shape of pauldrons too. The eyes on the right hand side are looking cool too and the more i look at the scorching on the barrel the more i love it.

In order to keep moving towards completion with this guy, I spent some time doing non-skin stuff. Mainly painting the fiddly bits on the base and getting started on the pistons. The base looks bare now, but it hasn't gotten it's ground cover yet.

Got the base sorted, and finally attached the left arm plate. Getting closer.

So when I looked at this on my phone all the pictures were inverted. Yes, I was holding the phone right side up.

I really like the light colored skin next to the dark armor. The metallics make a nice boundary. Keep up the good work, you're almost done!

I've been watching this project and it is really coming together nicely. I can tell you are ready to have him finished and move on to something with boobs.

Each day I there's less and less black primer showing. Today saw the last armor plate done, and I finished the skin basecoating. I also tried something, failed miserably, and fixed it back to the original. Luckily no one can tell.

And Milosh's thread has gotten to me. I prepped my Andrea pinup for round two, as soon as the brute is done.
