Did the base, and started in on the silver. (He's not attached to the base, I just put him there for the pic)

Oh - and I started laying the groundwork for the base for my next project. It's going to be my most ambitious one to date.

Onwards and upwards. Something a bit different, both in subject, scale, and technique.
This is Ahnamoth, the Withering Storm from Enigma.

The skin has been done entirely with airbrush. Now I can go back and start picking out all the rips, tears, stitches and wounds in the skin.

Cool. Don't go blind doing it. Also: Damn you. Another min company i want to buy and paint minis from. Here I was all "Well, if GW wants to raise their pries i'll just find other minis and save money". Then i started looking around - I am going to be so much more broke with all the great mini companies out there than if i had just stuck with only GW. ~sigh~ Enigma, added to the list...:crying:

Started filling in the muscle-y bits, but before I did that I mixed up a little battlefield brown and royal purple and his the shadows. I'll probably mix a little rucksack tan and yellow/white to hit the high spots too.
My hand is there because my stupid camera likes to autofocus on anything that ISN'T the model.

No need for yellow - straight rucksack accomplished the highlights nicely. Now to continue blocking in other colors and starting to detail them.
As I work my way around this mini, the detail continues to amaze me. I've counted no less than 6 beetles/centipedes crawling in, around, and over his skin.

Thanks Crackpot!

Seeing it like this, the green needs more depth. Not too surprising. I need to find a better way to hold him. I've got him pinned, but his weight keeps breaking the hold the glue has and he starts spinning on the pin. And as I paint more, there's less naked area to hold.

Wow! Lots of great projects going on at a time, eh?
Francesca is looking really smooth and the finished Vulkan He'stan really pops on that lava base.
Ahnamoth is great well detailed model. Looking forward to following your progress on that.

Hey Solun - yeah. I tend to bounce around. I'm trying to curb that, but it's difficult when I have so many shiny minis on my table. Excellent OSL stuff you've been doing, by the way. That little cave is awesome.
