turning the tide in the war against animals

The boys’ dad, an ex-Marine, knew he had to do something. So he grabbed the closes thing he could find – a log.

“(I) threw it at it and it happened to hit the bear in the head and I thought it just knocked it out but it actually ended up killing the bear,” said Chris.

Must have been a hard throw or a big log.
(Or a weak bear) :)

\"Officials from the Department of Natural Resources said there has never been a bear attack in Georgia. But they said there is no way to predict how wild animals will behave. The best advice is to keep food and garbage away from the reach of bears.\"

Oh, and if a bear steals your dinner, LET HER KEEP IT. Don\'t try to get it back by waving a shovel at the bear and yelling.

It was a 6 year-old kid!

But it probably wasn\'t too weak a bear, if a log hit someone in the head it probably would result in death!

Strangling cats? Excellent :p

Incidentally, is it urban legend or universal truth that the best way to stop a dog is to push apart it front legs (Outwards) ?

(Apparently they puncture the dog\'s lungs)

I don\'t know but I was jogging with a friend of mine many years ago. My friend was a boxer. A Doberman came running out of a yard to tear us up. Before I could blink my buddy punches the dog in the snout. Whimper then crumple. It was excellent.

Not a universal truth, but it does work, if you can get your hands around the dogs legs, which is hard to do, I cant even do it when Im playing with my dog, and hes a big girl, and not going hard core.

But a trained boxer hits anything in the face, its going down, regardless, especially in bare knuckles.

This morning a squirl in its last act of defiance electrocuted itself on the electric pole down the street knocking out power to the entire neighborhood. One moment he was enjoying his morning and then..zzzzzzzth..

I hate the little pests..I counted 16 in my backyard at one time last week and they tear everything up including my lawn.

easier to kick in between the front legs...The dogs equivalent of the danglies....Well actually more solar plexus knocks all the wind out of them..Grabbing a dog by the front legs to force breaking of the ribs would only happen if A) the dog had short legs...B) you had long arms....the unfortunate thing about doing that move s you pull the dogs head instantly closer to your face or Nads wether you pull high or low....
If you grab a handful and pinchthe flesh tucked right on the inside of the front legs where they join the body that shuts em up too.........
