Two new minis! ...in NMM...

Hi all, Check these two out:

They are both painted in NMM. It was so long ago I used NMM techniques I was getting rusty. I think it works OK.

I also hope you like them, I am pretty fond of Lysette in particular as I have never seen such a dark style of painting before on her... It is always so \'goody-two-shoes\'.

I don\'t know what happened. I am strugling a lot nowadays to get good photos but I honesty don\'t know what went wrong here. Took me more than an hour to make these photos as the rest was even worse. I use a Canon powershot G2 (oldie :)) and three bulbs centered on the miniature.

Indeed I must reconsider taking photos again. Especially as I want to sell these minis... Back to basics for me ;-)

There is almost no graininess on the minis.

When I looked at the first mini I assumed the blending was a bit rough. But on Lysette I began to suspect that the roughness was caused by the grainy photos instead. I had already written the comment on Drac by then, so you can disregard that comment (or at least the part about the rough blending...) :).

I love the NMM and the highlighting on leather is great!

I think the flesh is the one thing I feel lets them down. I could be the photography or I\'m being unfair. But the shading could do with a bit of tidying, NOT the highlights they look good. More so the male figure than the female.

But they are very good and you could discount everything Ive just said, but I\'m sure you could make them stunning as opposed to very good:)

Well, as always the truth is somewhere in the middle.. I would be lying if I said the flesh was seamless in the blends. I always struggle with flesh.

So, it ain\'t no \'Cyril\' paintjob, but it most certainly isn\'t as bad as in the photos.

Your work on the gems and jewels is great. I had to look at the gold several times to convince myself that it really was NMM. Colors?
