Tyrannic war vet conversion painted

Hi all. Heres my lastest piece and i wanted some feedback on how i could get this looking better. I thought it would score slightly higher than it is currently
(8.0 at the time of this post) so any comments are more than welcome. Cheers in advance.

I think maybe its the NMM :( and dark pics. It doesn\'t show half of the little details i have done. Oh well its all part of learning. Anyone else know what could be made better?

My first impression? The model looks way better than the picture quality can show. The compression is destroying the detail of the image, you can\'t make much of anything out I\'m afraid.

What software are you using? You can trim the filesize with programs like Photoshop without losing too much detail. They do a better job of it than if you simply upload a mini to CMON and it gets compressed by someone else, or heck it might even be automated for all I know.

The mini itself looks really nice, but it\'s too hard to see it through the pixellated image.

<edit>

The handle on the dagger looks a bit iffy as well, I\'m afraid... it looks a bit crooked and doesn\'t quite match the thickness on the other side of the hand. Little details like that kill you, I\'ve had to snap off a few pieces in my day when they didn\'t quite go on straight. Hopefully you notice before painting starts most of the time :)

You\'re welcome :) Anyway I\'ve always found converting a weapon by adding half above the hand, and half below is one of the toughest things to do. Getting it all lined up properly and lined up straight is a huge pain in the butt :moon:

Keep up the good work though, there\'s a lot of positive things in the model that are just hard for people to see and comment on.

Why have four small photos when 2 large ones would show off your work much better. For me it is simply to hard to judge the quality of the work properly.
This could be a 9 paint job but how can I KNOW that when I can\'t see it clearly.

The other thing is your file size. I was having difficulty getting pictures big enough for my BeLakor until klute told me to make the size of the image 200kb. I have not had any broken image problems.

I really like it but would not give it higher than an 8 or be able to offer meaningful suggestions without clearer pics.

Honestly, I am suprised that it is an 8. The pics are smaller than life sized on my screen. As Dr. Evil has mentioned, a single or double photo that was much larger with less compression would probably score better.

The pure white background is not helping either.

When I first saw this, I thought it was one of those 15mm super mini guys and was very impressed. Then I realized that it wasn\'t. I think that is the camera angle being a bit too high?

The point about the white background is true also. It tacks away from your NMM edges and over powers the mini somewhat.

Thanks folks for your fair comments. I think everything you have all said is true. Its just hard to see things that way somethimes when your doing it yourself so its good to get some constructive comments. Yeah i think i shall touch it up in places and try to get better pics. I dunno whats happend to me recently...all my better work are crappy pics :(

Thanks again. ;)
