I\'ve just been moved desk\'s and my new 1 has almost no leg room at all.
I was wondering if there are any legal regulations for the amount of work space you should be allowed.

I\'ve been involved with large scale office moves and am pretty sure there standards. What you need to do is conduct a workplace risk assessment with whoever\'s responsible in your company/team. This would cover space, layout and environmental factors and should really be done whenever you move to a new area or there are changes.

I\'m actually a Health & Safety professional (yeah i know, it\'s not my fault you can\'t do anything fun in the office any more!!)

as the above poster said you should have a ergonomic study of your work place done.. normally people only do this with the computer etc.. but it effects every part of your working environment from lighting levels, temp, leg room.

get hold of your H&S advisor and request an assessment.

They can\'t make you work in a position that isn\'t acceptable.. bottom line.

if you need any more advice PM me and i\'d be all too happy to help!

Rob.

IIRC you need a minimum of 11 cubic metres space per person and a minimum fire passageway of 85cm. (in reality say 1 metre)
Desks have to be a minumum of 75(or possibly 85 Cm) high and 80cm front to back.

Check the Regs here.
