Just wondering how many UFC fans with a facebook account there are here? I have been a fan since UFC 1 when I was a mere lad of 18 or so and I was recently intrigued by a UFC game on facebook. Its a card based strategy type game where you train your fighter up and assign a few simple bonuses and watch as your cards are drawn and the results are worked out. Its not a bad little game, but I have no friends who are into it, so if you are interested message me and lets get it on!!!

sorry, looks like I forget to mention I am talking about the UFC game actually on Facebook, its a card strategy type game. I bought Undisputed for my brother and wouldn't mind getting that for my 360, but yeah - this is just a simple 5 or 10 minute game on facebook.

No need to apologise, I was fully aware that you meant the facebook game, I haven't actually played it, I dont really stay on facebook too long if I am on computer, I usually just have a few quick browses on my phone app. Who are your preferred fighters currently? any thoughts on the last few events or the next few coming up?

Well, I have been in Vegas on two occassions where I have missed UFC events by one or two days, bit unlucky there and unfortunately it doesn't get shown on Sky satellite TV over here in the UK for free now (used to be on Bravo), and I don't get the sports packages as its pretty expensive to get everything. I have to source other means to watch it and I have not got around to getting hold of recent events yet - I hope to catch up soon. As to the next one, I havent seen many of the fighters on the card fight, but Silva and Ortiz are on it, so the event should be a winner. I like watching Ortiz lose lol.

As to my preferred fighter, gotta love G.S.P of course, a true warrior, Randy Couture and Frank Mir are my top 3 - mainly because they are pretty down to earth. Fighters like Les Brockner bring the showmanship but you never know whether it is just for show or if they believe their own hype and egos. I dont usually give them the benefit of the doubt lol. There are too many good fighters to pick favourites I think, hence the popularity of the UFC compared to its early days. Number 1 was interesting, it had a few very good fighters and exciting fighters competing in it - Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie the french kickboxer who lost to gracie was good to watch to. Whilst the new rules have seriously watered down its initial concept, its professional nature has made it alot better to watch for the long run, its still pretty brutal stuff. Every time I watch it I regret having to give up my own training and the fact that MMA was not around earlier back in my day!

Not interested in the game, but definitely a fan. The only UFC i've seen in person was the 115 show in Vancouver. The atmosphere was pretty intense, way moreso than I had expected. When Rory MacDonald lost with 7 seconds left in the third round I thought the building was going to explode! Chuck Liddell getting KO'ed by Rich Franklin, same thing. The crowd was very much on Liddell's side, but my friend and I were pulling for Ace and we were not disappointed.

Crowd had an awesome time, and even just sitting around waiting to get in we met some very cool guys outside. Didn't expect that, but just like going to Games Day or something, you know you have something in common with everybody there so your enthusiasm helps break the ice.

Yup, good times for everybody but Chuck :D

I watched a clip of Chuck getting knocked out and to be honest it was well deserved he walked onto a punch after throwing a few poorly timed bombs thinking he had Rich on the run. Chuck looked a little lazy there and he paid for it.

I'd love to go to an actual event, but i'd want to be closer to the ring and I am pretty sure that cost quite a bit more if even possible to get hold of the ticket - i have been told they sell out real quick! I am jealous Jericho! One of the ones I missed was Randy Couture vs Tito Ortiz when he spanked Tito.

I went to UFC120 last October at the o2 in London, it was quite good despite a fairly average fight card, I really dislike Bisping who was main event of that card, he is a poor ambassador for British MMA. Especially the way he acted after winning his last fight. Agree with you there Jericho, your all there for the same reason so you have a common interest to strike a conversation. We missed the fan expo unfortunately that would have been good as you usually get equipment at a discounted rate which is great as I do BJJ which is pretty costly.

Personally my favourite fighters are Rampage, Rua in LHW, Junior Dos Santos in HW, Anthony Pettis looks promising, Anderson Silva is technically awesome as well. I also dislike Ortiz, he is just an idiot.

It would have been awesome to have been there for the Chuck/Ace fight. I think Octagon side seats were £225 at UFC120.

DFB a good place that is free to watch MMA is MMAlinker.com its free all you have to do is sign up (which is also free)

Thanks for the tip there I will try and get online and watch, my streaming is hit and miss on my connection for some reason. It is normally okay on xbox videos, but my pc is 50/50 whether or not it streams without interruption. Those ringside tickets clearly need to be saved for I guess.........

I did like Bisping, up to a point. He is a little cocksure for my liking of late. Best British fighters I would say Ian Freeman (dont think he is still competing in UFC though) Dan Hardy of course and Ross Pearson would be the best British fighter overall. The reason I like Pearson is because he is grounded in reality on a personal level and when he fights, of those that I watched, he doesnt often waste his moves, sharp and tight fighter for sure.

Another one of the reasons I don't have much time for Bisping is he seems like just a general thug, where he is from isn't too far from where I live and a lot of the guys I train BJJ with who are into their MMA have heard a lot of stories about him causing trouble solely because he is a professional fighter, I heard when he was an up and coming fighter he started a fight while out and got knocked out in a punch by some rugby player. I really like Dan Hardy, he's a character and as a fighter a guy I have great respect for, the crowd went wild when he came out to fight Condit at 120. We paid £80 for our tickets that were a really good view just a bit behind the octagon side seats, saw David Haye, Robert Downey JR, Jude Law and Guy Ritchie in the audience not too far from us.

Yeah I think dan Hardy has a sense of humour he got dressed up in a mankini type thing and did a spoof training clip on his blog to the karate kid "Your the Best" theme music if I remember rightly lol.

Dont know much about Bisping but if he is a thug I have certainly come across his type before. Not so much out on the town, but on the karate competition circuits I did back in the day. I trained in the KUGB shotokan and their semi contact competiton was the best you will ever find. No gloves or pads, just gum shield and box and you had to hit hard enough to score. It was rough enough to serve as some good training without a doubt. Saw plenty of "accidents" and caused a few and suffered a few myself as well. On one particular occasion I saw this type of behavoir from a relatively low grade guy who looked like a total thug, he was bragging about how he broke someones nose in an earlier round like he was some kind of hero. Me and a friend overheard him and my friend was quite upset with this guy. Now he was a huge 18 stone man mountain grizzly adams type, nice as pie and quiet normally but woe betide if you upset him. One of our teams were due to fight his team next so we quickly re-jigged both teams orders so either my friend would end up being matched with him or I would. My friend was lucky enough to have the honours of beating the lesson into him, although I think the ref was wise to what was going on because he called both to the center for a little discussion on control. I still laughed as my mate was giving him a really rough time chasing him around the mat and you could see the worry on the other guys face as he was well and truly clobbered. Its never a suprise that most bullies have big mouths and small hearts when the tables are turned on them.
