Ok. I\'ll make a few comments on the elf with the repeater x-bow. I\'ll just go through this like it was one of my minis that I\'d taken a picture of to critique.
Starting at the top. The red on the helm needs to be better. A couple more coats probably, so it covers the black better. It just doesn\'t look clean as is. After a couple more coats, mix some yellow with red and highlight corners. Then mix a little more yellow in and do it again...etc.
Next, the shoulder pads. These are a great detail on the model, and they don\'t stand out. I would ink the crevice of the silver shoulder pad with black. I would highlight the peak of the black shoulder pad with purple.
Now, the raised hand. I would ink in between the fingers with flesh wash. Then I would highlight finger tips and knuckles with 1/2 elf flesh and 1/2 flesh.
On to the x-bow. Here, I would be kicking myself. This is the detail that makes the model, and it looks flat. I need to do some work on this. First, I\'d drybrush the magazine gold. Then I\'d paint the bolts in the magazine chaos black all over...and then stripe the bolts themselves with bestial brown...and finally highlight them with snakebite leather.
I\'d mix 1/2 bestial brown with 1/2 chaos black and paint all the wood on the x-bow. Then I\'d mix 3/4 bestial brown with 1/4 chaos black and paint all the x-bow except the little bits next to crevices or \'edges\'....then I\'d repeat with bestial brown....then I\'d highlight corners & edges with snakebite leather. Finally, I\'d paint the metal parts (other than the magazine) boltgun.
While I was waiting for all that to get good & dry, I\'d go give the base another coat of flocking, and have a protein shake while I read through The Economist.
Then I\'d go back and highlight all the cloth on the mini with some brighter shades of purple. So the arms and hem line @ the bottom of the mini stand out a little better.
Then, I\'d take another picture and start the process all over again (by posting it here).
