UK Conflict event - what\'s it like?

Hello all,

I am considering attending the Conflict North event in June. The GW website has plenty of info about the tournaments, but nothing on the other events. I emailed them and they said they hadn\'t decided yet.

So, any Conflict vets on here? I am mostly interested in the painting competition, the categories, etc, but I may also have son(s) with me and they would be more interested in the terrain builidng, games, etc.

Any and all info on past events (but not the tournament side of it) would be useful, as I expect future events will be a similar format.

i have been reliably told that the conflicts are changing totaly.

they are becoming doubles tournaments.
i am not sure about what else they will be doing on the same day.

i would like to know myself as a few of us bolton lads were cosidering going down. (since it will be held 10 minuetes away:))

I have never been to a UK Conflict but the ones down here in Oz are a great opportunity to meet new players. i have learnt a lot thanks to Conflict, and made new friends too.

See, GW is good too... u know

The Northern Conflict this year is to be held at the De Vere Whites Hotel (attached to the Bolton Wanderers Ground, {Reebok Stadium}) on June 4th.

Normally the attendance is pretty good and the painting competition showcases some very good talent.
I\'ve been fortunate enough to be one of the volunteers and painting judges for a couple of years now. But this year I\'ll be in Fife at a Wedding the day before and can\'t guarantee to be at Conflict. (I\'m doing the Wedding photos.)

I have some ideas about Painting Clinics this year which I will be passing on to the organisers, so perhaps they might get taken up.

All being well the organisers will be sorting out the shortfalls that occurred last year with Forgeworld and there should be a couple of Guests from GW headquarters, possibly Jervis Johnson or someone of his standing.

Virtually a match for match but there only used to be a Single winner no 2nd or 3rd places.
However I\'m not sure if that will be the case this year as the Conflict have been combined to that there are only three in total.

all i need is green stuff, a scalpul and lots of tin men. \"SNARF\"

youve done it again haven\'t you pinky, just when we were so close to victory.

are well, we will just have to conquer the painting contest tomorrow night then.

there pinky, there pinky and the chris, chris chris chris chris, chris.
