UK games day

hey all i was wondering whos entering or just going to UK games day this year, im thinking about entering because i think it will add a bit of spice to the day for me, i dont expect to win anything but who knows, maybe my next mini will be 10 times better than any of my previous ones and the gods of painting will be smiling on me.
on a side note if anyones driving and will be passing near exeter and has a spare seat and can offer a lift i will willingly chip in for petrol

I have a ticket, but it was a freebie. I would like to go, purely because I have never been before, however to be honest, the odds are against it as I just have too much work on. If things ever look clearer I will let you know???

Yes I am going, this will be my second Games Day. So far I plan to enter a Skink shaman, who won me first place at a local GW painting comp, but who is probably so small as to get overlooked in GD. :/ The Games Day 13th company wolf priest (NMM on that one so not sure how well he\'ll do!) and finally the main entry is a forgeworld temple guard who I have been spending months working on!.

The temple guard has been converted slightly to make him look a bit butcher and slightly more like the new ones. I used proper metallics on this one.

Face to face could be good for a laugh.

One thing I\'ve found is that GW has reacted to the complaints about the ability to view the mini\'s in Golden Deamon and its in the down stairs section.

As for the NIA itself the venue is ok but the costs of cold drinks border on theft! And don\'t get me started on the Burger bar service.

Meeting

I think it may be a good idea to have a CMON meet? Try and get a time and place arranged inside, meet people put names to faces etc. What does evryone else think?

I would be game, but as I said, I am not entirely sure if I can make it at all yet. Perhaps someone who has been before could suggest a sensible time and place?
ie \'12.00-12.30 beneath the clock\' and if people can make it fine, if not, no one is going to be too inconvenienced.:flip:

I\'ll be there, this\'ll be my 5th games day, 4th time entering Golden demon.

Meeting up sounds like a great idea, I met Dragonsreach last year, by chance he spotted me collecting a model I had previously shown on CMoN and we had a good chat.

By the way Kat, Forgeworld are having their own Best of Show award for this year, given to the best FW model entered into Golden demon, so your temple guard could win that too.
I think that was a good idea by FW, since their models haven\'t been well represented in the awards the last few years.

I\'m not sure how good it will be to have the models downstairs, it\'s usually even more crowded down there than on the balcony...I guess we\'ll have to wait and see, we still get to go in by a different entrance to non-entrants though

Yeah looking forward to hopefully meeting up and chatting with you all. I\'ll be with my friend Mad_Eddie who doesn\'t get to go on CMoN that often. So it\'ll be an education for him as well, to meet some more mad painters.

As to the Golden Deamon being moved downstairs, I\'ve heard rumours about complaints regarding disabled access to look/drool at the entries.
I know that I only got to look at a small percentage and only by chance luckily saw KingM\'s entry over somebody\'s shoulder. (Glad to have met you!!)
I might be mistaken but I think the GD section has 360 walk around this year. (I\'ll wait & see). :]

I\'ll be there. I\'m taking a break from judging golden daemon this year so i can have a go at the open, looking forward to seeing you all there.

I\'ll be making the long trip from Cornwall as usual. Going to be competing at the demons as usual. One difference this year is that I\'ll probably be competing in both the regular demons and the Open (watch Nejoho beat me down )

Still boatloads of work to do on my entries. Started my Open entry yesterday and expect to be spending a lot of time on it.

40k single is nearly done though. An interesting experiment as it\'s quite a simple figure with only minor conversion. Even the paint scheme is fairly simple (anything more elaborate would be contrary to the correct image for the piece). I have pushed the pure quality of the paintwork though. To me it\'s the best technical paintwork I\'ve ever done.

Beyond that, hopefully fantasy single, LOTR scene and, maybe, a vehicle (but that is looking unlikely).
