I voted \'other\', but what I really mean is \'good grief, make up your own mind!\' lol

You can\'t really get a more personal a project underway than a Golden Demon entry, so what are you doing asking other people what you should do for it? Think carefully, sketch out ideas, work out all kinds of options, play to your strengths, do something you like, do the best idea you come up with, the one you can execute most impressively, the one you will most enjoy, use your creativity.

This will no doubt be a time consuming project, so for god\'s sake don\'t base your choice on what others think!

Sexy demonettes !! :drool::drool:

And as an added bonus you get to paint boobies so you\'re sure you\'ll get a supervike aproval of the project :D

Agree with FrenchKid, anything with titties gets my vote

But seriously, i agree with lono, paint what you feel you will be able to do the best. Play to your strenghts. Get a collectors guide or something and browse it, what do you like, what will you not get bored with etc...

I am definately with lono on this one. GD entries are definately something you should fit to your strengths and style of painting, not the other way around, that is what the rest of the year is for, experimentaion and testing. Though all seem like very interesting options, it\'s not something that people could really help you do. Think very carefully what you really want to do and which YOU will have the most fun with. I tried doing that and it did not work very well, I just said... I am doing x mini for GD this year without giving it much thought at all... big mistake, all I got where a whole bunch of nights of staring at the mini and 0 WOW ideas popped into my head. Ended up doing some stuff that I had wanted to do for many years, and BINGO... so take a bit more thought into it, do research to make sure it has not been done before (and won of course) to make sure it is still original and go from there into sketching specifcs, colour schemes, materials list and so on, then get to work on your piece. This is about as much advice as I can give you. Hope it helps.

Definitley have to agree with lono and the others.
Any GW project has to be personal and not trawled around the web trying to get other peoples suggestions. if you can\'t get any self originated inspiration then don\'t enter the category. All you will be doing is painting somethng that you really haven\'t created yourself and will your heart be in the effort.

I agree with Lono and Dragonsreach (not jumping on their bandwagon).

If you are going to paint an entry for the Demons then it has to be a personal choice otherwise you will start to have regrets half way through painting and wonder why you are bothering to do them at all.

...Unless he wants to paint any/all of the above and wants some ideas as to which to go with first...

I would say look at what you can do with the miniatures and how you could make them unique. Note down what you would do for each regiment and then decide on which has the longest list of ideas ;)

I\'m going to make a couple of assumptions here in support of this thread.

I am assuming that Avicenna got it right -- Larre is torn between the options he listed. He thinks he can do an equally good job on any of them and is looking for feedback on a couple of points.

Are people tired of seeing \'x\' as squad entries?

Is \'x\' judged more harshly than others because of previous standards?

Assuming all of that is correct (mmm, assumptions) then I\'d say go with the Daemonettes.

I\'ve seen amazing squads in each of the other listings. I\'ve never seen a winning Daemonette squad and only seen a couple of conversions. I would love to see what could be done with these models to bring them up to GD quality.

Wasn\'t that done last year with the Lust Wing army?

Okay, it was an Emperor\'s Children themed Death Wing army -- but that\'s pretty close, right?

If you are following misterjustin\'s thinking then the handy Demonwinner site can probably be useful:

Daemonettes - 7 winners. It seems US judges like boobies. Winner pics

Ogres - 17 winners. Winner pics

Space Marines - Loads! Winner pics

It should be said that neither the site or the search show a full list, but it gives an idea.

So yeah, Daemonettes aren\'t as common, so may be a good one to go for. On the other hand, there are lots of Marine winners, so that is probably what the judges like, so they may be a good one to go for.

I say you can\'t go wrong with a squad of Space Marines dressed as clowns. Iconic, creative, terrifying and fits the GW fluff perfectly! ;)

hahahaha. hose marines would be intresting to se xD

anyway. I have decided to go search for inspiration last two days. and I have some up with some quite good ideas.
some are even wow-ideas IMO.
but I won\'t tell you guys.
I still have some thinking to do,
thx for the advice of checking demonwinner :D I didn\'t think of that site ^^

anyway... there is a small chance that you might spot them in the WIP section the coming month

thx guys :)

if you really want to win you have to take into consideration that gw judges not only want to see a mini painted and sculpted really well, but also a mini which really, really, REALLY! captures the feel of the universe they belong to, and that is why some times certain pieces get to win where others don\'t/should(depending on your point of view) have.

also unless your gonna enjoy painting something DON\'T DO IT FOR A COMP!
:)

Why? Personally i woud keep it secret.

Iv only just finalised my idea, I did have a great idea about a month ago, but once i got the minis I really didn\'t want to do it. So iv had a rethink and redraw and picked something else.

So now I have a brand new box of Ork Kommandos spare, anybody want em?

Yep.
Have a friend who\'s Ork Army got lifted recently.
He\'s still got the Tanks but all the 150+ figures developed legs and were \"walked away\".
Bit ironic as he\'s a policeman.

You\'d be surprised what people will nick. :D
And GW has terrible shoplifting problems. Last figures I heard they\'d lost over 2½million (GBP) globally through theft from shops. (Having said that my mate & I have caught about a ½ dozen shoplifters. GW security on the cheap :D)

Anyhow we were at an event (Massive Tank Battle) and he brought all his Ork Army. Next we knew, no Orks and the annoying things were that they were:
A) 90% painted
B) all weighted down with Pennies in the bases
C) I\'d painted all 40 Bl**dy Gretchin for him
