Think I\'m giving it a miss this year, not really had a lot of time for painting minis lately. It will be the first GD in like 9 years that haven\'t attended

Nearly finished this years defence of my crown, just a couple of figures to paint. ALOT quicker than the 2 years it took for the last one!!!

May enter 2 catagories this year ???

Has GW changed any of the catagories this year does anyone know?

I assume this year the categories will be the same as last year, only because they are in the process of changing all the other country\'s GD categories to mirror ours this year as it\'s considered the best way of dividing it up... so you don\'t end up with squigs being judged against heavy tanks in the same category... mention no names.

The only change I can see is that the \'large scale\' category may be ditched as they\'re changing the rules worldwide so that anything scratch sculpted is automatically going in the open category, and as over 50% of the stuff in large scale was scratch built, I guess there may be less of a reason to have it.

When did they announce categories last year? It was around May/June time wasn\'t it?

I wouldn\'t mind finding out the categories for this year to plan some entries.

Just so i know who will be beating me, whose entering what categories?

Im thinking single fantasy, single 40k, 40k squad, maybe large scale or open w/e it turns out to be :D

I think my best mate may be entering the monster category, though he may instead be using it for a diroma.

I have two possible models that if i feel are good when i paint them i may enter. But i have a few other categories i am entering first and these models i got for free so it would only be if my other entries are complete and if the monster is painted to a good standard in time also.

Anybody entering wfb single?wfb unit?and 40k squad?as those are my targets

so anyone entering wfb monster categorie this year?...(wanna know who i\'l be up against) :)

I might re-enter my ogre as I wasn\'t really finished with it last time around (another one finished at the hotelroom). ;) Not sure though, it is always so and so to re-enter something as you want to enter something fresh. But I am thinking of changing some of the converting and repaint about half of it, repaint the gnobblar and probably rebase it so... ;)

I got one entry for wfb single lined up as well and probably a 40k regiment. Lotr if I have time.

Valérie won\'t be coming as she\'ll be spending the week-end with her childhood friends (yeah, that was the deal for me to cross the Channel :p).

@Cleezy : 40k squad is on my list too.

not sure if that will stop him as he will be having to cope with controlling (read putting up with) the kids on the coach.

Will there be a coolmini meet up this year?i missed the last one, because i decided to feel really ill at last years GD and spent most of it feeling like i was gona collapse.

I think me and my mate will be goin the night before and stayin in a hotel as we cant be arsed gettin up to catch the coach at 5am. Especially as last year he was an hour late

meet up at the painting tables between 12 and 1 usualy.
ignoring the security guys babble on about health and safety and crowds.
and then off to the bar (beware the price of food at the bar, it cost me seven bloody quid for a sandwhich last year, seven bloody quid!)

Yea the food was hardly cheap, it was a fiver for their hotdog attempt, on stale bread!!!

Seems like i wont be able to miss the coolmini meet up.

Hopefully no sudden attacks of illness, i lost my place in line of warhammer online and my place to get descent of angels due to it that day LOL though the second wasn\'t too much of a bother as i found it the worst heresy book.

Still should be a good day and will be nice getting to speak to the coolmini guys and seeing peoples models

If it\'s open and if it\'s sunny, it should be cheaper to grab a bite at the local Subway and picnic on the lawn.

I don\'t think there is a subway anywhere near.

The hotel is the ONLY place about for a pint and civilised conversation.

I just need to save up for a sandwich. lol
