and our own sandwiches, we are not all as rich as generul poleaxe to be able to spend £7 on one!!!

it\'s called having blood sugar problems and spending your miniature money on food (the shite that was being served in the actual arena looked so bad i didn\'t want to risk it)

this year i\'m saving up just for some decent grub lol

(the sandwich was nice but not £7 nice, for seven quid i want it served by a nekid chick)

That sounds like my kinda £7 sandwich.

And agreed last year me and my mate got a hotdog from the in arena stands an it was utter crap. Paid a fiver an got a hotdog on hard bread roll and a mediocre sized drink.

We made and took sandwiches but ate them queueing to get in

Unsure if going this year. Really looking for bit of advice from the vets here. Never been to a GD or entered any painting comp. Is all the hassle and the late nights worth it to enter the Demon?

No.

It\'s more than worth doing once at least - even if it\'s just to say you\'ve been there, seen that and got the T-shirt.

If you make money from commission painting, then a demon probably wouldn\'t hurt your business either.

Well its like this.. don\'t wait till the last minute to do your entry and their wont be any late nights.. in most cases those who tell the tales of woe of late nights and so on.. started their entries weeks if not days before the contest.

Start on on one or two good entries and you will be done in plenty of time..were talking 2 months and a week from now..and that still gives you a couple days to tweak if necessary.

Cheers for that. Might be scuppered anyway. Missus runs a book stall business and told me she had booked a show that weekend, but couldn\'t remember if Sat or Sun - Great.

She managed to booked a holiday over it last year

Lets see what happens.

Got a couple of figures already in progress anyway

I\'d started a couple of pieces before the world expo, cleaning them up, bit of conversion work. Even some base work and some initial shading on one, but having seen what was at the expo, I think I\'m going to put them aside, work on something nice for a couple of weeks and then just do one or two simple single figure entries.

Maybe next year I\'ll dig out my duel and open ideas, need to try them at some point just to clear some space in the old grey matter for new ideas :D

I have exactly that same problem Konrad.. Need to blitz a load of ideas now and again to just clear up the grey matter.. There\'s nothing worse than sitting there working on one thing while trying to wrap your head round another..

I\'ve started knocking a few different entries together to do just that and then focus on the ones I\'m \"Feeling\" ..

anyone taking WIP\'s to the Platoon Brittanica meeting?????

Probably not. Too much risk of damage.
[Anally Retentive mode]
Plus It\'s Bad JuJu: D
Will have a few decent, recent pieces though. Even a figure I did for a \"Paint Yourself as a Miniature\" competition. lol

Oh and a \"Special\" Pink Marine for Squidders.
