quick question:D is there some where at GD where you can just chill out and not get crushed by the mad crowds, I have been to one once but was just dropping off a commision (Saxon WAB army) so was in and out in an hour
Cheers James:beer:
Yes......... the Annual Cmon\'ner gathering where we older and more sensible (?) lol people disappear across to the hideously expensive hotel for a natter and a fix of \'Eye Candy\' addiction.
Usually we gather close to the Repair Table at the Golden Deamon area around 12:30-13:00 (ish) and wander over.

older? alex, ari, me...
Ok So you lot don\'t match either of the two criteria.
That means you\'ll have to pay an enterance fee.

I have miniatures that are twice as old as the YBs are...

So far I\'ve managed to paiont my bedroom, think I can enter that in one of the large categories? ;)

I\'m determined to get something done, but boy is time going to be tight... probably just a LOTR single.

Oh, I have a question, can I enter something I entered at a previous Oz GD, that didn\'t place? I will have redone it a bit.

It\'s what a few of our French brothers do, redo \'a bit\' then re-enter. Quite a few very successful painters do. I think there\'s very little danger it will be spotted.

Oooh, I\'m progressing well, I actually thought about trying to unpack my painting stuff from the boxes they have been in since the move last night. So well on track to have a pile of entries finished!

Where\'s the sarcasm smiley?

It\'s an important step in the creative process, not to be overlooked! Careful planning and execution is of vital importance. You don\'t want to discover in the midst of painting, that you didn\'t think the unpacking through as you should have. :drunk:

I believe Mark Lifton has done it too. I never think it\'s a problem - sometimes a work just requires a little bit of extra polish to push it to greater heights.

As long as it hasn\'t placed in another GD you can enter something as many times as you like.
Its perfectly legal.
:)

My entry is actually coming along really nicely now, even if that sounds slightly big headed.
One giant is nearly finished and the other is 1/5th done.
On the base it looks extremely cool. IMO

Only 5 & 1/2 weeks.... yikes. I need to get moving!!!!

Some of mine are going 2 ravage the week b4, will that count against me you recon?

I am shi%$ing a brick now, I still cant sort out the bases for my pieces and I am seriously close to loosing sleep over this crap. I think I set myself to high a goal. Seeing the stuff from the German GD didnt help. I think Ill stick to one entry next year (yea right :p)

Why would that cause you any problems? The only thing is if you\'re anxious someone will nick your ideas, but you\'ll have the advantage of having the pieces finished, whereas the would-be copycat would need to do his/her entries within a week.

I will be doing the same thing, like I did a few years ago. Then I attended the Mix and got a lot of positive feedback on how to improve it and spent a few days the following week repainting the piece and won gold at GD UK..

who cares?! ;)

if only the food was better there, we should have made the effort to go out to a cafe - there were some nice looking ones over the road
