Uk mail troubles

Hi, from my experience i\'m noticing that expeditions from and for Uk (i\'m in Italy)compared to others europe destinations are very slow, i\'m talking about 2-3 weeks instead of 5 days from Spain i.e.
I\'m starting to think it\'s something related to anti-terrorism measures or something like this. Anyone experienced my same problem?

one of the problems is that if the package isn\'t marked as airmail it sometimes gets down graded to surface mail without the sender knowing and as such takes longer.

that\'s right, they charge you for the more expsensive service and then send it via the cheaper one.
doesn\'t always happen, it just depends on who ends up sorting it.

I sent two different packages to England 6 days apart. They both got to the different people on the same day. I think if something has something suspicous in it (fluids, metal, that kind of thing and both of mine had minis and paint in them) they may be pulled for extra scanning and batch sent once a week. Letters have gone there fast but the packages with minis always go slow.

Nah, I think it\'s more likely to be pot luck as to when things arrive. Parcels take longer anyway, if they\'re in a box, as opposed to a padded envelope. At least that\'s my experience from national, as opposed to international shipping.

Yep, the post office has gone down hill, right after they dropped the number of deliveries from 2 to 1 per day, increased their charges and introduced other \"efficiency\" improvements.

Yep, it\'s what i think, in fact the long time passed was on metal minis,relatively short time for i.e. antenociti plasticard.
